TEXT

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes - this is the same attendant here. [Wife-nurse for patient [3013] whose reading preceded this.]
3. We have the body, [3014].
4. As we find, there have been some disturbances in the glandular forces of the body, - and this producing an unbalanced chemical reaction causes those inclinations towards the crystallization of salts in tendons, especially in extremities; or an arthritic and neuritic tendency.
5. Where these become inflammatory, they cause a great deal of distress.
6. In making administrations here, as we find:
7. We would have regular periods of taking internally the Atomidine; one drop in half a glass of water before the morning meal each day for five days. Then leave off for five days. Then take again, and so on.
8. Each evening we would apply Epsom Salts Packs. Dip heavy towels in a saturated solution of Epsom Salts and bind them about the joints, - the feet, the hands, at various times, - not all these at once, but where there is the more severe pain. Apply these as warm as the body can well stand, and leave on until it has become well encrustated.
9. Then remove the Packs and massage the area thoroughly with Pure Peanut Oil.
10. Keep these up, - paying particular attention to the various portions, or extremities - the hands, the arms, the elbows, the knees, the feet, and across the hips, - these at various times.
11. Also we would start better eliminations, as these other applications are made. After the first or second week of taking the Atomidine, we would start better eliminations by the use of Senna Tea almost daily - this made from the Senna Pods or Leaves, see?
12. Keep away from foods with very much salt in same, or use very small quantities of salt.
13. Do use raw vegetables where they are not too much roughage. Take often such as celery, lettuce, tomatoes and such; also carrots and beets and beet tops.
14. Do these, - keeping these up, - and we will improve these conditions, and find better conditions coming for this body.
15. Ready for questions.
16. We are through for the present.

BACKGROUND

1. 5/17/43 Husband, [3013]'s letter: "Mr. Cayce, would it be possible for you - at the same time - to make a Physical Reading for Mrs. [3014]? I do not know, of course, if this would tire you too much, but I hope it can be done. You see, Mrs. [3014] takes care of me, and any severe break in her health would be a real catastrophe. She is afflicted with arthritis and possibly some nerve disorder - doctors cannot determine and seem unable to help. This has been growing more and more acute in the past few weeks and has us both worried. If you can make her Readings at the same time you make mine, it certainly would be splendid. She will, of course, be in the same location as I will next Sunday afternoon, which I described in a previous letter. I am extremely grateful to you, Mr. Cayce, for naming one of your rest periods for my Reading, believe me."
2. 5/23/43 EC gave Physical Reading for husband, Mr. [3013].

REPORTS

1. 6/02/43 Letter reporting on husband [3013]'s reading: "We are both very grateful to you and I know we shall both benefit from the help you have given us."
2. 2/22/44 Letter telling of husband's death:
As I understand it, I can ask you for a check reading within the year. I am sorely in need of help. The long physical, mental and nervous strain have taken so much out of me and all winter I haven't been well.
I would appreciate so much if I might receive some help from you.
   May I hear from you?
3. 4/10/44 [3014]'s letter to EC:
   ..., N.C.
   Dear Mr. Cayce:-
Thank you very much for your letter.
Since I wrote for a Physical Check reading, I am feeling much better. I have been taking treatments to help relieve menopause conditions.
I still have quite a lot of Arthritis and would like to know if I can check it by anything new.
I have for a long time been unable to sleep well, and would like to know if this condition is a result of my arthritis or nervousness.
I am extremely nervous, but have been for a long time.
Could you tell me if the "mole-like" blemishes which are growing on my body have a direct cause. I get more of them as times passes.
I will be at the above address at the time designated, in the downstairs north east room.
   Thanking you for your help.
   Very truly yours - [3014]
4. 4/22/44 See 3014-2.
