This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 28th day of May, 1943, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [3034], new Associate Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Miss [2988] and his brother, Mr. [3126].

TEXT

1. GC: You will give the relations of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces; giving the conditions which are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth plane, giving time, place and the name, and that in each life which built or retarded the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the present entity, that to which it may attain, and how. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: (In going back over years from the present - " - '41 - changes - '36 - '23 - yes - " etc., on back to birth date.)
3. Yes, we have the records here of that entity now known as or called [3034].
4. In giving the interpretations of the records as we find them here, there is much to be chosen from. There are warnings, and there are those experiences that will try the entity; yet the entity, remaining true in the closer walks with that purpose for which it chose to enter the present sojourn, may find contentment and those experiences in the earth that may be to the glory of those influences that are the purposefulness of each appearance in the earth.
5. While there will come three great disappointments, these have in the main been met; one more period of disturbance and then we will find changes coming in which there will be the opportunity for the fulfilling of that desired - if the desires are kept in the way of the oath of office in which the entity will find itself in some period working out.
6. These we choose with the desire, then, that this information may be a helpful experience. We would magnify the virtues, we would minimize the faults; as should be the policy of the entity in its dealings with its fellow man.
7. There are those urges latent and manifested. We find that without respect to the application, the urges from the astrological and material sojourns are good, - as may be indicated in what might be called the composite of the individual personality.
8. The entity is one who is very careful; at times considered most too careful; very much given to detail, and as to causes and purposes.
9. Thus in any field of activity that had to do with things of detail nature the entity might find opportunity for service, - as a nurse, a doctor, a hydrotherapist, a masseur. Activities of such natures would give the opportunity for greater expression of the abilities latent in the experience of this entity, [3034].
10. Astrologically we find urges from Mars, Jupiter and Venus as a part of the entity's experience. Thus the entity is one that will never be called lazy.
11. One that finds an activity in little things, as well as in those things having to do with the home - as the handy man about the home, the house; as for detail - very much given to such.
12. In Jupiter we find the universal consciousness, and the tending towards any form of the healing arts. But we would learn electrotherapy as well as the mechanotherapy, as this should be a portion of the entity's activity - as will be seen from sojourns in the earth.
13. We find in Venus the love of the beautiful, of those things that are harmonious; yet these at times bring the conflict. Hence the disappointments come with peoples as related to conditions and circumstance. Yet as we find, the entity in its abilities as a technician, or in being tactful, has met at least two of these, and the third to the greater extent.
14. In these activities, then, we find one equipped to make friends, to direct and to counsel with many individuals. Thus the necessity of the entity's first finding its own ideal; in spiritual, in mental and in material things.
15. Here is a wonderful entity to study information that may be given through such channels as this, though the entity itself is too direct to be in the way of using same - save as applied to other individuals.
16. As to the appearances in the earth, - we find that these have been quite varied. Though all may not be indicated, these have to do with the present activities of the entity, and for the next two cycles - or for the next fourteen years of experience of the entity; though it will be in quite a different environ by the end of that period!
17. Before this the entity was in the activities of the Vikings, or those peoples that used much of the sea for new environs, for changes.
18. Thus we find things pertaining to the sea of interest, or things pertaining to great quantities of water; though we do not find Neptune indicated in a spiritual activity. Those places near the sea are the better for the residence of the entity, or with those that do down to the sea, or those who have been over bodies of water will be those with whom the entity will find the activities that are the more materially beneficial to the entity.
19. But find in self that peace of the spiritual understanding that the entity may impart, in mind and in practice, something of the nature of that peace in the hearts and in the experiences of others.
20. In that sojourn the entity was a wanderer in many portions of the experience. Thus changes have been wrought, but from the experiences of the sea - and things pertaining to same - will come helpful material influence for the entity.
21. The name then was Henrickersen. The entity gained, especially in the latter part of the experience, when it settled in what is now the western portion of the present land of the entity's sojourn; then under quite a different rule, quite a different expression. But these will be a part of the entity's experience in the present.
22. In the latter portion the entity was not merely a storekeeper but a keeper of material things for others, as well as the keeper of many of the mental experiences of others through that sojourn. Not as a banker would be termed today, but rather as a counselor to those who had been and were themselves seeking the experiences of a new or unusual land.
23. Before that the entity was in the Holy Land, though the entity again was closely associated with those activities as related to ships that plied the waters between the Roman empire and those provinces governed by same, or other countries. But the entity's capacity then was as a chief steward, or the one looking after the physical as well as the moral welfare of those in service through those activities.
24. Settling in a part of North Africa, about Alexandria, the entity was given to making exchanges between the various groups of peoples.
25. Thus in the present we find the abilities to harmonize the experiences between groups in individual's minds, and thus lending itself to those activities as indicated in a nurse, a doctor, an attendant, or in those things dealing with people's INDIVIDUAL lives!
26. The name then was Ericksen.
27. Before that the entity was in the Egyptian land, during those periods when there were the activities especially in the Temple of Sacrifice; when there was the use of operative measures for the removal of appendages and those things that hindered the peoples of the day, particularly in relationships to the offspring, - as presented by the activities of the Priest in the period.
28. The entity then was an attendant; later an operator, later a counselor or teacher to those who assisted in the hospital activities which were begun in those experiences in the land.
29. The enabling of individuals to find their vocation through those periods of activity also were a part of the entity's experience.
30. Thus as a counselor of and for varied groups, and especially the young, the entity would make the expressions of self as to fulfil spiritual purposes in the present experience.
31. The name then was Haz-Ak-En.
32. Before that the entity was in the Atlantean land, when there were those periods of disturbances between the children of the Law of One and the sons of Belial - as they were indicated in those periods.
33. The entity then was among those that were of the priests in that period, thus making for the creating of better conditions for the "things," or those used as the laboring peoples through those periods - the activities that kept closer to the tenets of the children of the Law of One, and the use of the influences of nature.
34. Thus, as indicated for the entity, study electro-therapy as well as mechano-therapy, as these will be in keeping with the activities that are latent in the experiences of the entity.
35. The name then (as would be interpreted in words or letters of today) was Asuasa.
36. As to the abilities of the entity, and that to which it may attain, and how:
37. First, know thyself, they purposes, thy ideals, - spiritually, mentally, materially. Give each its proper place, not only in thy daily activities but in thy daily studies.
38. The application, as indicated, in the field as a healer, a mechano-therapist, an electro-therapist, may find an outlet for the greater abilities of the entity - for these then to give sufficient impetus for the for the use of the great detail, the great ability to give the correct impressions, and to gain the correct impressions, from the little details in the experiences of individuals.
39. In the present, then, - fill those duties of the present day needs. When the world differences are settled, journey to the west coast. There establish self - near what are some of those activities about Los Angeles, or that area; and we will find the abilities of the entity not only appreciated but put to a use for material, mental and spiritual unfold- ment for many.

41. (Q) When would the time be most ripe for me to open my office in Los Angeles?
    (A) About eight to nine months after there is cessation, or after there is a peace made.
42. (Q) Would my chiropractic profession be my best to work and unfold in, in this life? or are there greater possibilities in other fields?
    (A) As indicated, add electro-therapy - and the study of VIBRATION of chemicals administered in same to the body.
43. (Q) Will there soon be forthcoming a sum of money through inheritance or otherwise, for about $10,000 or more?
    (A) There will be some delays, some disappointments. Portions of same will come.
44. (Q) As a whole, how is the general outlook for the rest of this earth life for me?
    (A) As indicated, GOOD - if there is the keeping of the way that is of the spiritual import FIRST and foremost.
    Let the purposes be creative, ever - as indicated in the desire for helping others. Remember, - body, mind, soul, - they each have their part in the physical, mental and spiritual welfare of individuals. Thus apply same in their proper relationship one to another, and we will find more of contentment, more of peace in the experience of the entity.
45. (Q) (Suggested by Miss [2988]) Would it be advisable for my wife and I to have a child?
    (A) Would be advisable - in a year or such matter. Keep that attitude which has prompted the entity to enter the healing profession, and keep inviolate that oath taken in such service - as given by Hippocrates.

First let me thank you for the [coffee] coupon - guess am about the luckiest man in the country, having friend send coffee coupons, for would be lost without coffee, am afraid. Possibly, one shouldn't allow themselves to be come such a slave to even coffee, but is possibly one of my worst habits, and as grow older, work harder, seems more necessary. Thanks a lot, also thank Miss [2988] - she must be a very lovely person. Am looking forward to meeting her at the Congress next month, won't it be practical for you to come also?
