Dear Mr. Cayce,
There is some confusion regarding the Reading you gave me
on the 6th of July at 10:30 to 11 A.M. I've contacted Dr.
Dwight Shellenberger, whom you mentioned in your reading
for treatment, but have not had one yet as he does not give
massage but manipulations, osteopathically. And your reading
for me specifically said: "Follow the use of the Light
each week, you see, with a massage - osteopathically given."
I've phoned two other Drs., one, an osteopath, who says
he never gave a massage either, only manipulations, as
a physio-therapist, who says he has the Mercury quartz
ultra-violet light, and will give massage with it, as that is
what physio-therapists give. I had massage treatments years
ago at the hospital here given physio-therapically which
alleviated the back-ache. But at present I've no such
complaint as that, only the desire to correct weakness in
the right hip, which makes it necessary for me to avoid any
strain on that part, hence the heavy corset. Please Mr.
Cayce, clear up this matter for me, so I'll know what to do
- have massage again, (which the osteopath said would never
correct anything), or have manipulation (which I hope I
can take. He said he wouldn't hurt me.) I've really only
confidence in your Reading clearing the point up for me -
could you find out for me - please? Also, I should like to
have you send me $.50 worth of the "Animated" Ash - 1/8th
grain capsules specified to be taken ten minutes before the
treatment with Light, followed by massage, or manipulation,
which? In the event that I might not be able to go on
with the treatments, and we have to count our pennies VERY
closely, I would appreciate your letting me have $.50 worth
to begin. I hope you understand.
Thanking you and hoping to hear from you soon, I am
Sincerely yours, [

P.S. $.50 enclosed.

Dear Miss [

Thanks for yours of the thirty-first. I believe if the
physio-therapy has the mercury light, he might be able
to give you the massage, but if it is possible to get the
osteopath to do it, it would be much better. An osteopath
can give a massage which is a certain type of osteopathic
treatment. However, I know Dr. Shellenberger a little
better, but I know he has handled several cases that we have
given readings for. I do hope that you can take advantage of
this.
I am sending you under separate cover some of the ash. I
realize and can fully appreciate the position as you speak
of. Please understand the ash is put up in quarter grains,
consequently, you can have this divided into four parts and
still be taking enough. It is best to put it dry on the
tongue and wash down with a little water. This may appear
to be as nothing, but I am sure if you will take it as given
you will find you can get real results. The ash is quite
expensive; $.50 does not pay for one capsule, but I do want
you to have it.
Thanking you, and be sure to let me know what you decide and
who gives you the treatment. Hoping to have been the means
of being of a real service, I am
Sincerely, Edgar Cayce
