6/26/43 Questions of [
3078] for Reading:
Shall I ever lose my business position and be out of work all
the years I formerly was because of my age?
Shall I always have to live in only a furnished room, or
shall I ever have enough money to have a few rooms of my
own and be married?
Shall I always have to endure the hard work at business,
small salary, and discouraging conditions at business I
endure at present?
Are all those in authority at business enemies of mine? Is
there one who would ever act in a more friendly way to me in
case of need?
How can I get out of the hole I seem to have been thrust into
by life, and when nobody wants to employ me because I am in
my 61st year?
Is there any way of changing my present life and the
unfortunate circumstances that seem to attend my efforts?
What have I done to deserve such a raw deal in life, and
how may adverse conditions be rectified or changed?
Why has God forsaken me for so many years when I have served
Him and had such unwavering faith in Him for so many years?
What is wrong with me that God does not help me either
mentally, physically, or financially?
Shall I ever have another regeneration or "born again"
experience that I had forty years ago? How can I be born
again or obtain That Something, or spiritual baptism, or
cosmic consciousness?
Cannot God heal me of neuritis of legs and hands, and
inguinal hernia weakness? Must I continue wearing a
double pad truss?
REPORTS
7/26/43 Letter from [
3078] to EC: "Thanks for your reading.
I wrote The Atomidine Co. of Brooklyn, N.Y. asking how much
money I should send as there might be some extra charge if
sent by express or parcel post, and also what the Atomidine
was usually taken for as I did not understand clearly in
your reading what it was for, whether as a medicine for some
stomach trouble or organ, or stimulant, or bowel remedy, or
what. The Atomidine Co. did not reply to my letter so I did
not get the Atomidine.
"Would you mind telling me what the Atomidine is to be taken
for in my case? Incidentally do you happen to know what the
ingredients of the Atomidine are? As soon as I hear from you
I will write the Atomidine Company or call on them for the
mixture if they are still in business.
"Is it not possible to buy this medicine at some drug store?
"I notice you mention taking at least 15 pounds of Epsom
Salts in fifty gallons of hot water. I presume all at once?
Will a bath tub hold as much as fifty gallons of water in
addition to the 15 pounds of Epsom Salts? I suppose the
water could be measured by using a quart (milk) bottle
(empty) and filling 200 times with hot water.
"Does one get that much Epsom Salts in a drug store or
grocery?
"Am I correct in assuming all this Epsom Salts and 50 gallons
of water used at the same time, once?
"Thank you, I am..."
7/29/43 EC's letter to [
3078]: "...I have yours of the
twenty-sixth. Atomidine, of course, is iodine with the
poison taken out of it so there is the same reaction every
time it is taken. It is to add iodine to the system to
purify the glands and to work with the ability of the system,
to release poisons from the system. To be sure Atomidine can
be bought in many drugstores. Many a bathtub will hold more
than 50 gallons of water, but I wouldn't measure it with a
quart bottle. Fifteen pounds of Epsom salts is not a great
amount to dissolve in 50 gallons of water. Yes, you can get
the salts at the drugstore. It should require for you to
remain in the bath for a length of time. The idea is to have
sufficient to immerse the body well in it. This has been
given to many a number of people and it is a practical
thing to do.
"I do hope that you will get real results..."
11/15/44 [
3078]'s letter to Secretary, Assoc. for Research &
Enlightenment: "Dear Madam, I am in receipt of your letters
of Sept. 11th and November, 1944, concerning the expiration
of my Associate Membership. I only agreed to originally
become a member for a brief time because your rules &
regulations compelled me to do so if I were to receive a
reading or receive literature. Inasmuch as a friend of mine
[
3023] contemplated receiving a reading and membership I only
agreed to become a member in order to become acquainted with
your literature and to see that my friend was protected from
anything that might not have been for her best interests
metaphysically.
"Later my friend asked of her own volition that her
membership be cancelled, writing you to this effect, and
saying she was greatly disappointed in the Reading she
received.
"Now I ask that you kindly terminate or cancel my membership.
"I request also that you kindly remove my name and all
records and papers concerning me from your files as I am
not interested in the Association.
"This is no reflection on the evidently sincere and well
meaning efforts of Mr. Cayce, neither is it my impression
that you may not be able to help many others with limited
spiritual understanding, and who have various problems
needing to be solved.
"Although I thank Mr. Cayce for his sincere effort to
help others, I reiterate my desire to have my membership
terminated and everything concerning my case REMOVED FROM
YOUR FILES AND DESTROYED.
"Thanking you in advance for acceding to my request..."
