2/06/44 Wife's letter: "Thank you for the check reading of
Jan. 27th. We are so happy things are progressing in the
right direction and so grateful to you.
"I am afraid I will have to bother you for additional
explanation. I do not quite understand the instructions
of the last reading.- So far my husband has taken - 14 days
running 1 drop of Atomidine, 3 days rest, 10 days running
Gold and Soda, 3 days rest, and so on.
"When the reading says - "leave off every other dose of
Gold" - does it mean he should take - 14 days running the
Atomidine, 3 days rest, 10 days running no Gold, but for 3
days running 1 drop of Atomidine before breakfast and then
7 days running nothing, then 14 days running Atomidine,
3 days rest, 10 days running Gold and Soda, 3 days rest,
14 days running Atomidine, 3 days rest, 3 days running
Atomidine 1 drop before breakfast, and so on.
"Then the very next paragraph in the reading...'All the rest
of the applications indicated we would keep. Once a month
for at least a week repeat all of them, except the Gold -
substituting the Atomidine'... - Does it mean that the oil
massage, Glyco-thymoline applications, colonic, juices - must
now be used only one week per month? Except the Gold and
Atomidine which must be used right along and as I understand
it (in the schedule in the paragraph above?). Please let
me know about this, dear Mr. Cayce, for we are so ready and
eager to do the right thing; and no matter how I study the
last reading I cannot understand the instructions..."
2/22/44 EC's reply: "...I have been away and haven't been
able to catch up. I am glad to know that your husband is
getting along pretty well. ...As I understand it you are
to keep up all of the treatments, with every other dose of
both the Atomidine and the Gold to be left off for a while;
that is 14 days, but every other day leaving off the
Atomidine and Gold, so [
5020], that it would only be taken
7 days out of the 14; keep up everything else..."
3/26/44 Wife's letter: "...My husband wants me to tell you
he is all right but right at present at a stand still or
improving so slowly that he can't detect it. We are
faithfully keeping on with all the treatments except the
colonics which we have skipped (one a month instead of one
each week). And the last one has upset his general digestion
so much for a whole week that now that he feels all right
again he would like to try and do without them entirely.
What do you think about that?..."
5/31/44 "...In his case, thank heaven, I can take care of
all the treatments myself. And we do them almost 100%
faithfully. I think he is better, but yesterday to my
great distress he told me he was very discouraged as he now
does not feel any improvement since, he thinks, January.
Maybe he is too ambitious and expects too much. He worked
in the garden quite hard, I would say, for these past 3 days
and of course not only is he out of training, but that kind
of work, much as he loves it, is not his work. By nature he
is neither pessimistic, introspective nor complaining. I am
so afraid that if his mental attitude turns pessimistic and
he becomes discouraged, it might do his physical health harm.
We now beg you for another check reading and thorough going
over, really a comparison reading with the first one on
July 2nd, '43. As you see it is 11 months since the first
one and I do so hope and pray you can give him another
reading soon and find him improved and give him renewed
confidence and a boost. ...My husband wants me to ask you
if he can drop off all or any of the treatments meantime..."
6/12/44 GD's letter: "We are making the appointment for your
husband's check physical for the morning of August 30th...
Mr. Cayce suggests that he keep up all the suggested
treatments until that time..."
8/20/44 Wife's letter:
"...I would be very grateful if this check reading could
be a comparative one with the very first one a year ago on
July 2nd, '43. So will, in my list of questions, not only
add new ones having come up recently but also take some of
your diagnosis of a year ago and put it in question form.
I would so appreciate it if all the questions were asked.
My husband feels better, but still gets tired easily. We
have faithfully kept on with the Atomidine and the Gold, also
with the fresh vegetable and fruit juices and corn bread.
The colonics we have skipped some - about every 3 weeks or
so and the last one seems to have upset him a lot. The
massage we have dropped altogether for the past 2 1/2 mos.
and when I tried to give him one about a month ago his body
didn't seem to take the oil in at all. My husband wants to
know if he can drop all the treatments now. Why does he tire
so easily? How is his circulation? What is that "gone"
feeling in his legs? How is the supply of iodine in his body
generally and as against last year? Is the crystallization
of the segments of the spine less taut and has it generally
improved as against last year? Is his hemoglobin of the
blood supply better? Is the inflammation in the kidneys
gone? Is the heaviness or cyst in the parathyroid glands
gone? Can he drop all the medicines and treatments or part
of them... I almost forgot the most important thing. At the
time of the reading my husband will be in ..., Maine..."
[This appointment was cancelled due to EC's illness.]
10/12/44 Wife's letter: "...We both are terribly sorry to
hear about Mr. Cayce's illness..."
9/10/52 Wife's verbal report to IMG: P-1 [3079-1]: "The
doctors said there was a parathyroid tumor and T.B. of the
Kidneys. Later X-rays revealed that this was not correct.
Further comments were, 'no hope' that he would eventually
turn to jelly - there was nothing they could do - suggested
that he take aspirin. I knew that the things Mr. Cayce gave
would work and literally over-rode the objections of my
husband in carrying out the treatments.
"At the time this reading was given my husband and I were
home in ..., Mass., a town of 10,000 or more population.
Just back of our home there was a small picturesque brook.
Interesting that Mr. Cayce not only saw it but mentioned it.
P-2 [3079-2]: "My husband was not at all keen on the
treatments and at this point was not too improved, although
I continued to give him the treatments just as outlined, for
I was sure it would work.
P-3 [3079-3]: "My husband continued to improve, though
following the year of '45 he only kept up the treatments
occasionally; particularly the use of Atomidine, Gold and
Soda - and paying attention to the general diet that had
been outlined for him in the readings. When the doctors
would meet him on the street they would turn white with the
shock of realizing that he had not died, as they had thought.
They asked him to come in so that they could check him and
see what the changes were. He did not want to do this and I
did not encourage him to do so, because there were so many
unpleasant memories with this previous illness; also the
routine of the check-up would be difficult for him both
mentally and physically. He is now enjoying the best of
health - boating, swimming, dancing and carrying on his
business."
