This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 19th day of July, 1943, in accordance with request made by the self - Miss [3134], new Associate Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by her sister, Miss [...].

GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
EC: Yes, we have the body here, [3134].
As we find, there are many conditions to be taken into consideration if there would be helpful forces for this body. These are rather serious. Yet, the body does not desire sympathy nor to be pitied.
Rather the body should know, deep within self, the way of the Lord is not past finding out. While there may be hardships there may be trials know that the Lord is good and He will not allow the body-mind of any individual soul or entity to be tested or tempted beyond that it is able to bear.
Though the conditions may appear dark, He has not willed that any soul should perish, but has ways which, if we will walk therein, will bring peace first within the conscious self, and gradually the unfolding, the releasing of the body forces that would keep you from ministering to those that do seek His face.
First, then, seek to know Him.
While in the physical conditions there are those disturbances which prevent the body from the normal functioning, and the body is - as it were - bound within itself, we find that the whole of the system is at variance one portion with another, hence, in making applications for beneficial effects for the body it will require that there be, as it were, preparations.
Just as there is to be builded a character, a home, a relationship, or any experience in the activity of an individual, certain ground floors must be laid, must be set out. There must be adherence to certain rules.
As we find here there are the indications in the blood supply of the functionings through heart, liver, lungs, and kidneys, being at variance; that is, within the organs themselves there is continually a setting of the flow of blood through one of the organs as against the other. And we have those periods of intermittent fevers, chills, hot and cold sensations in parts of the body. While these have gradually grown to be less and less, these disturbances of the glands prevent the secretions in the activities of the organs that enable them to reproduce those cellular forces in the body functionings to reproduce themselves.
These then set up more resistance or drosses, or used energies, or those toxic forces that cause the accumulations of these poisons about the muscular ends; especially in the locomotories, as in toes, ankles, knees, limbs, hands, arms, elbows, back. And these tend to crystallize, as it were, or harden, and gradually cause a static condition. This naturally makes pressures on the nerve system, thus cause a great deal of pain at times, so that it necessitates the use of properties to allay or keep down the pain.
These sedatives naturally make a greater accumulation and lessen the activities of the organs of elimination. Thus it becomes as it were a vicious circle.
Then, as indicated, we would begin and prepare the body for these various periods of treatments, which would be along these lines for this body:
Begin taking internally one drop of Atomidine in half a glass of water each morning before any meal is attempted. Do this for one week. The next week increase this to two drops. The next week increase to three drops. The next week increase to five drops and take this for two weeks, then leaving off for one week.
During this whole period massage the body along the spine and the limbs of evening when prepared for rest. Take a hot bath, as hot as the body can well stand and then as soon as wiped off, massage with Peanut Oil. And massage this well into the flesh, along the spinal area, especially along those centers where there are the locomotories both for the arms and for the lower limbs; across the abdomen. Massage the abdomen thoroughly with this, all the body will absorb.
After this has been done, then, for the six weeks in the manner as given and left off for a week, begin then the next week with five drops of Atomidine.
Also take twice daily three drops of Glyco-Thymoline in half a glass of water to cleanse the alimentary canal.
Do have, now, the high colonic irrigations to purify the colon area.
After the Atomidine has been taken this time for five days, have an Epsom Salts Bath. Use at least twenty pounds of Epsom Salts in forty gallons of water. Let the body remain in this, not too hot so that it weakens the body so much - and have the massage of the limbs while in the bath - for at least thirty minutes. Don't let there be a period while the body is in the bath that there is not a massaging on the limbs or the body or the arms or over the torso, and especially along the spine.
Do these things. Then if it becomes necessary, start all over again, beginning with the one drop of Atomidine, etc.
Then the diet: Take sea-foods, prepared in some manner, at least three times each week.
Do not take too much of juices, yet do not take too much of solid foods; though as indicated, sea foods may be prepared in stews, soups, or in whatever manner is most satisfactory to the body.
Beets, carrots, celery, lettuce, and especially watercress should be taken often.
The body should not take white bread nor white potatoes. These should be barred from the diet.
These things offer the better opportunity for the body. But as indicated change the attitude. Don't take these applications merely expecting that they will correct conditions unless the altitude as to usefulness of the body, mind, and purpose is for creative forces.
Do not condemn others nor self most of all. Give thanks daily for the opportunity that you may have in the experience of being a manifestation of the glory and the work of God in the earth.

(Q) What about the sedatives?
(A) These will have to be taken for the time, gradually left off as the body is able to sleep and rest better, and the assimilations are better.
(Q) She believes that she cannot take any raw vegetables or fruit.
(A) As indicated we would not require her to take these. When there is the attitude than you "can't" then know that you CAN!

My sister, [...], lives in Washington, D.C. She has arthritis, an intermittent fever & other troubles. She believes that she can not take any raw vegetables or fruit & I think food is one of her problems. She is not able to work.
I expect to have an operation on my feet to have arthritic deposits removed. I am worried about an increasing impairment in the circulation in my right side. I am employed in an office but can arrange to stay home the hour of the readings.
We both have faith in your ability to locate the causes & we very much need your help.

Replying to yours of the 15th, is this the first of the salts baths you have taken? This has been the experience of practically everyone where these were given, but if there is the proper care, I think you will find that you will respond very readily and come back to your natural strength in just a little while. You see, your are breaking up poisons that have been accumulations for a long while. It is rather severe, but I believe if you are persistent, have the oil rubs, just after the periods for the baths, do have a grain alcohol rub, and that will stimulate you. Don't do it with denatured alcohol. Let me hear from you if there is any question. We will be glad to check up and see what or where things were done wrong.

Since then I have followed your instructions in regard to my health and have taken the medicine which you prescribed. I feel much better than I have in years, am stronger and weigh more than I ever thought possible. My health is greatly improved. I am extremely grateful to you for the big improvement in my health.
I would like very much to join your Association in my own name and also to make an appointment, as soon as possible, for a Life Reading. Dear Sirs,
I am writing to you for advice and help.
A few years ago I had a treatment by Dr. Casey. He prescribed ATOMIDINE for my glandular trouble. I followed his orders and have been getting along fine. Now, I am unable to secure this atomidine, and my health is far from good. My druggist, in Washington, ordered this medicine for me from a New York firm, Schieffelin & Company.
The Schieffelin Company advises that they cannot supply atomidine any longer.
Would you kindly tell me where the ATOMIDINE could be secured. If it is not on the marker, what could I take in place of it?
