TEXT

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes - a beautiful body before it was - [EC did not complete the sentence.]
3. Now as we find, while conditions have been and are still very serious, these need not necessarily be too discouraging to the body; for there may be added those things which may yet give the body many many days and years of a useful service - if the body will dedicate itself, its life, its body, to manifesting the glory of the creative forces as may be manifested through the material aid (physical) the body may receive now.
4. This as is interpreted has been an acute condition of tuberculosis. There have been many ups and downs, many periods when apparently there was little hope for preventing further inroads into the strength of the body. Then again it has turned (as it does in some stages, the more often) to be so detrimental to the ability of the body to assimilate foods. And the foods that are taken only lie in the stomach and become corrupt in not digesting properly; naturally upsetting all of the digestive and eliminative systems of the body.
5. That, too, as we find may be very easily aided, but will require very patient and quite persistent activities; and those things that would be in keeping with creating the better balance in this physical body.
6. These as we find then are needed in the present. These may be altered after six to eight months but these we would do in the present; leaving off other activities, save the regular stimulation taken for the vital forces of the body. But these too will be gradually diminished.
7. First we would give that the body begin inhaling the fumes from pure apple brandy in a charred oak keg. Put half a gallon of pure apple brandy (such as Hildick's) in at least a gallon or a gallon and a half of charred keg. Prepare the keg so that two vents may go into one head of the keg after it has been corked. To one vent attach a little hose or a connection so that the fumes from the vacuum may be inhaled deeply into the lungs. The other vent is to allow air to enter, so that there is not the attempt to inhale against a vacuum. At least two or three times a day inhale these fumes into the lungs, blowing out through the nostrils when it is practical. Keep the keg in a warm place so that evaporation may occur easily.
8. Do this and it will change those activities in the lungs that once in a while do break through. Use these fumes regularly.
9. Also we would begin taking immediately, as that correction for the gastric flow of the stomach, half a teaspoonful of ACIGEST in a full glass of raw milk once each day, preferably at the evening meal. This will also aid the body to assimilate the foods and to find better distribution of energies created in same.
10. Once each day, at the noon meal, we would eat a whole wheat cracker spread thinly with CALCIOS. This will be most beneficial in supplying calcium.
11. In the matter of the diet, keep those foods that are body building.
12. Do use, for at least the next four or five weeks, the combination found in Yogurt as prepared (Battle Creek), as an antiseptic for the intestinal tract. Take this regularly.
13. Drink plenty of milk.
14. Do rest often, but not so often as to become tired to self or to the environs.
15. Do rest often and long in the shade, out of doors, where there is the brilliant sun whenever possible. Do not remain in the sun too long, but in the shade it's well.
16. Do those things and we will find we may bring much better conditions for this body. Eventually we can put on more weight and come back to the normal body this promised to be some years ago.
17. Ready for questions.
18. Do these things and we will make for better conditions for this body.
19. We are through with this reading.

(ACIGEST and CALCIOS are both manufactured by The Colloidal Health Products Corp., Atten. A. A. Nichoson, Greenvale, L.I., N.Y. The Acigest is hydrochloric acid in a form easily assimilated, and sells for $1 a bottle. Calcios is a syrupy paste containing free calcium easily assimilated, and sells for $2.50 a jar.

BACKGROUND

1. 7/26/43 and 8/10/43 She [3154] submitted these questions [for first physical]:
   1. Where is the source of my infection and what can be done to help my cure? 2. Would a phrenicotomy (fren-ik-ot'-o-me) help? 3. How much longer will it be before I am well, if I'm to be well? 4. How can I help my stomach and what can be done to eliminate all the bile I suffer from? 5. Is this hindering my recovery? 6. Is the trouble in my liver? 7. Will my lungs heal in spite of stomach and bilious attacks I am prone to? 8. Is it alright for me to stay in N.Y. for the winter? (While I have had bed rest, there's a difference of opinion there.) 9. Will my lungs heal from bed rest only? or do you suggest other things? (I have been sick close to 2 yrs...in bed only 1, in fact only 9 months.) 10. Will there be a complete cure? 11. Are my teeth throwing off any infection?
(In other words, how can I get over my tuberculosis and stomach trouble? What cure do you suggest?)
   12. What should be done for the sinus condition?

REPORTS

1. 5/07/44 Mrs. [3154]'s ltr. to EC:
   Dear Mr. Cayce
I am vastly amazed at your bulletins of great success - I had a reading last August and the question I asked of you was ignored and never answered. I had asked you if a phrenic operation would help me - That was the object of my reading - How is it you never answered that? The rest of the readings were just words that were of no consequence - If you will check my reading sent to Mrs. [...], I am up here at the Alla Vista Saranac Lake and if you want to do justice to me you will ask your self the answer in your usual manner that you write about or at least Mr. Sugrue does - and send me the answer I asked for. I think that is what you are supposed to do. My doctor will permit the inhalation of apple jack.
Please let me hear from you - [3154]
2. 5/10/44 EC's ltr. [own typing] to Mrs. [3154]:
   Mrs. [3154] ..., N.Y.
   Dear Mrs. [3154]
Have yours of the 7th. Am sorry you are so displeased with the information we undertook for you. It would be impossible for us to make any sort of early appointment for you to try and answer your question, but if you were to read over the information think you would find your question answered; but as it is "only words and means nothing."
If you will return all the data we will be glad to refund what ever it has cost you. We are only trying to help and many thousands have been helped according to their own word.
   Thanking you
   Sincerely [signed] Edgar Cayce
