8/13/43 Letter from mother: "He has been bedwetting
all his life with short intervals of improvement. He is
now 11 yrs. He has a slight stammer, is an oversensitive
child...circumcised when very small. During rainy weather
his bedwetting is often worse. He also needs to go to the
bathroom once if not twice when lying down and resting in the
afternoon. Otherwise he uses the bathroom almost too little
& has perfect control."
1. Can the late cutting of his back teeth have any influence?
2. Is he backwards and in certain parts of his body
undeveloped?
3. Could his circumcision have had anything to do with his
bedwetting?
4. Is horseback riding good for him? (He does it rather a
great deal at school in Va.)
5. Is his stammer connected with the general condition, and
should it be corrected? How? Through breathing exercises,
etc.?
6. Does he get overstrained at school?
7. What is condition of heart, kidneys, bladder?
8. Would a tonsil operation be essential and bring some
improvement?
9. Should he re-enter the same school? Farmhill School,
Griffensburg, Va.? (He has had so many changes before.)
Is this the right school for him?
10. Why is he oversensitive, shy, and clinging to his mother,
instead of looking for companionship of other boys, and
instead of taking more interest in the life and things around
him?
11. Did his mother's unhappiness during the time of his
expectation before his birth do him any harm?
12. What causes his stammering?
13. Is his spine alright?
14. Is the doctor who is prescribing for him at present the
right one for him?
