Add these ingredients in the order named:
Sulphur.................1 level tablespoonful,
Rochelle Salts..........1 level tablespoonful,
Bicarbonate of Soda.....1 level tablespoonful.
Mix these thoroughly together, and take regularly for certain
periods as will be indicated, as follows: Each morning for
five days take a level teaspoonful of this mixture stirred in
a half of a glass of water, then fill the glass, and take
this before the morning meal. Do this five days in
succession, then leave off for three days, then take again
for five days more and so on - until the whole quantity is
taken.
These combined with the osteopathic corrections, as we find,
will be most helpful to the body.
In the corrections that are made, coordinate the lumbar areas
with those corrections made in the upper dorsal and
throughout the cervical. Also correct those conditions in
the feet, the bursa especially in the heel and the toe.
Over those areas where the rash occurs in the present,
especially around the torso, dust with stearate of zinc
powder with balsam in same.
In the matter of diet through these periods, - have those
foods that are easily assimilated; not too much of any fats,
but, of course, fish and fowl should be included in the diet.
Not too much of starches or of white breads, but all
reinforced breads. Let the vitamins be more in the
reinforced foods than in vitamins themselves; such as in the
cereals, the breads and the character of vegetables. Include
beets often in the diet, but do not have these - nor any of
the salad dressings where too much vinegar or acid is used in
same.
Do not eat cereals at the same meal when citrus fruits are
taken, but alternate these, taking cereals one morning and
citrus fruit the next; such as oranges, grapefruit,
pineapple, lemon; but do not eat the cereals when citrus
fruits of any kind are taken.
The only vitamins we would take would be the B-1 complex; the
One-a-Day brand would be preferable. The rest of the
vitamins may be added in the diets, if those indicated are
followed.
These, as we find should bring much better conditions for the
body.
Ready for questions.
(Q) What suggestions can you make for overcoming the great
weariness under which I work so much of the time?
(A) This comes from the lack of vitamin B-1, which we have
suggested to be taken, which is the only one other than
contained in the normal foods. Of course, B-1 is in many of
the foods suggested but supplement with a vitamin B-1
complex.
(Q) How may I improve my eyesight without resorting to
glasses?
(A) The head and neck exercise, as well as the regular
treatments indicated through the upper dorsal and through the
cervicals will be a material aid. But having a certain rest
period, and taking the time, morning and evening to do the
head and neck exercise would be beneficial.
But we would use glasses when reading or writing.
We are through with this reading.

(8/30/43 GD's notes at time of reading: Directions for head
and neck exercise: Standing or sitting erect, bend head
forward three times, backward three times, to the right side
three times, to the left side three times, circle to the
right three times, circle to the left three times. Do this
regularly night and morning.
During the periods that the Sulphur is being taken, it is
important that you do not get the feet damp or get caught in
the rain so as to become damp. Of course, this does not mean
you shouldn't bathe, but do not get the feet or clothing
damp, or the head wet, or go bathing or the like - for this
is dangerous while the Sulphur is active in the body.)
BACKGROUND
8/25/43 Daughter [
2946]'s letter: "Monday morning, August 30
comes my mother. I wish my mother knew you - and you knew
her. She is one of the most energetic women I ever met.
Seventy-three years old and she covers more ground than I do.
But for a year and a half she has had shingles. Came on her
suddenly in January '42 and she was taken to the hospital
with the worst case they'd ever had. I came from ... to be
with her for a month. The thing has never let up although
she does her own work now, and plenty of it, and much of the
church work. She does much - much too-much. No one else
will take the superintendency of the Sunday School so she
does that also. Even I, without going into a trance, know
that she needs more rest. But maybe she can get more if the
Information dishes it out. And maybe there is something she
can take which will help the thing. Her other difficulty is
hearing. She always had such acute hearing that it seems
doubly sad now to have her so very deaf. I can't help
believing there is help for that also. I have indicated the
questions which might be helpful but I wonder if Mrs. Cayce
would bear in mind, in asking them, that the nearest doctor
is forty miles away and that treatment which can be
administered at home - if it is a daily matter - has the best
chance. There is a retired doctor near here, who does not
want to practice, but who could give shots if those were
indicated - I think it would do Mother good to get away from
here for a while. She hasn't taken a trip for two years.
But far be it from me to tell the Information what to say!!"
REPORTS
9/06/43 Daughter [
2946]'s letter: "...My mother is so
grateful she has no words for it. She is starting right
after the treatment and trying to find an osteopath who will
cooperate. If she can't do it up there, she will get down
here for a spell. My osteopath in the neighboring town of
Freeport will cooperate. I am so happy about it that I feel
speechless."
8/22/44 Daughter's letter: "...My mother has had lumbago the
last few days so I've had a double set of housework..."
4/05/48 Daughter's letter: "...I wonder if it would be
possible for me to get a copy of my mother's reading?..."
