This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 18th day of September, 1943, in accordance with request made by the self - [3217], new Associate Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by a radio review of the book, THERE IS A RIVER.

Present: Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mr. [3217] and wife.

TEXT

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [3217]; present in this room.
3. As we find, there are conditions that prevent the better physical functionings of the body. These are of a compound nature, but produce a specific reaction in the body.
4. These, then, are conditions as we find them with this body, [3217] we are speaking of, present in this room.
5. In the blood supply in the present we find there are indications not only of the sedatives to control the activities of nerve impulse, or flow, but a form of sluggishness to the general reflexes of the sensory nerve forces of the body.
6. The compound disturbance, - we find in some periods back there was first a form of lesion in the caecum, or more in the area about the lacteal duct plexus, extending to the caecum, or along the area of the right side. Then there was an injury to the coccyx and of the spine. This forming a pressure upon the nerve forces, and reflexed through the conditions in the sympathetic areas in the lacteal duct, produces - through the activity of the sympathetics - convulsive reactions in the medulla oblongata.
7. These as we find, then, are the sources of the disturbance.
8. The conditions do not respond to the sedatives as do the greater number of such disturbances, but rather - because of the very nature - act almost in reverse at times.
9. Then, to break up the adhesions in the caecum area, and to remove the pressure in the coccyx and sacral area, we would do these:
10. The adhesions in the lacteal duct area would be removed by the massage following the application of Castor Oil Packs. Use three thicknesses of flannel well saturated in hot Castor Oil and apply for an hour each day, three days in succession each week - but the same three days each week, see? After each Castor Oil Pack, give the massage - not attempting to undo the whole body, but so as to relax the body well, especially in the area - where there will be found to be an adhesion, in the lacteal duct area, extending as a tautness to the caecum area - along the right side, you see. This massage may be given by anyone who is a good masseuse, or by the osteopath; the osteopath, to be sure, would be the better - though anyone may give it who is shown how, and will take the time.
11. Following each series of the Packs, - that is, once each week, on the evening following the three-day series of the Packs, - take internally two tablespoonsful of Olive Oil.
12. There will be required some three to four series of these Oil Packs, - that is, about three to four weeks of the three-day series each week, see?
13. About one week after beginning the Oil Packs, - that is, after one whole series of the Packs for three days, and after taking the oil, etc., - we would begin with osteopathic corrections in the sacral and coccyx area, but apply wet heat when such corrections are attempted. We would have such an one as Irvin to make these corrections - about twice each week. Some ten to twelve of the relaxing treatments and corrections in the sacral and coccyx area will be required. First the adjustments may appear to cause reactions, but once the conditions are corrected and the lesions or adhesions removed, we should have no more of these disturbances.
14. Do that.
15. Ready for questions.
16. Be consistent, be persistent. These done correctly, we should have no more effects of this reflex condition in the nerve forces of the body. For we will have a correction that will remove the causes and change the conditions for good, for this body.
