Prepare a compound in this manner to be taken internally. To
one-half gallon of distilled or rain water, add:
Wild Cherry Bark.......................4 ounces,
Toothache Bark, (Prickly Ash Bark).....1 ounce,
Buchu Leaves...........................1 dram,
Podophyllin..........................1/2 grain.
Reduce by slow boiling (only in an enamel or glass container)
to one quart. Then add four ounces of grain alcohol in which
there has been cut two drams of Tolu.
The dose of this would be a teaspoonful three times each day,
before each meal.
In the diet, - refrain from too much starches. Only use
whole wheat bread or rye bread, or that made from graham
flour.
Lots of carrots. A great quantity often of beets and beet
tops; not beets that have been pickled, however - these
should be fresh. Plenty of green beans, lentils, cabbage -
the red variety.
Not a great deal ever of bulbs; that is of dried beans or
the like.
Onions, leeks and the like should be taken. Meats should
consist only of fish, fowl or lamb.
Do keep the eliminations well, using colonic irrigations
often.
After about half the quantity has been taken of the compound
(not before), begin having adjustments osteopathically made
especially in the upper dorsal and through the cervical area;
coordinating the 9th dorsal and lumbar and sacral areas with
such corrections.
When the full quantity has been taken of the properties for
the correction of the circulation, and at least twelve
osteopathic treatments have been administered, we would give
further instructions.
Ready for questions.
(Q) Will the spot in my left eye disappear?
(A) This will depend upon the response made, and it may be
better indicated from the reactions after these treatments
suggested are followed through.
(Q) What causes the joints to become inflamed - what
treatment will help?
(A) The poisons not eliminated and these things suggested
are to aid in stimulating eliminations.
Do these things and we will find there should be bettered
conditions for this body.
We are through for the present.
Two copies to Self - (one for the osteopath when it is time
for these treatments)

(If you have difficulty in getting the compound prepared, it
might be possible to have it done by our local druggist. You
can let us know about this.
When you are ready to begin the osteopathic treatments, or
just before that time, we suggest that you consult - Dr.
George N. Coulter, 18 East 41st St., N.Y.C., who has had
experience with following Mr. Cayce's Readings.
When you have taken half the compound and have begun the
osteopathic treatments, let us know approximately the time
you will finish taking the compound and the series of
treatments suggested, so that we may make an appointment
for a Check Physical Reading to give further instructions.

BACKGROUND
4/06/43 Letter: "Since 14 yrs. of age I have had serious
attacks, not just in one part of my body but all parts at
different times. It centers in one particular part... Have
been to many doctors in the past and have received no help.
The condition has been steadily growing worse. Just at
present I've been receiving some help and I know the 2
doctors will cooperate, since they are trying to help me,
and the condition is very rare."
9/17/43 "I suffer from a rare eye condition which is very
painful and leaves me in darkness for 4 or 5 days at a time.
The attacks are frequent. Also the joints of my hands and
feet become inflamed and swollen, and a rash covers my legs."
[Questions for First Physical]
1. What is the cause of the attacks in my eyes?
2. Will treatment and diet help?
3. Will the spot in my left eye disappear?
4. What causes the joints to become inflamed - what
treatment will help?

Dear Mr. Cayce:
Have finished the osteopathic treatments and the doctor
asked if there is any improvement in the condition of the
eyes? I also am asking the same question. I do not know
if it is possible for you to answer this question with my
reading. Will photography, lights, and darkroom work bother
my eyes or general condition?
If this can't be answered disregard it.
I will be at my home...
