TEXT

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [3256].
3. As we find, there are disturbing conditions that prevent better physical functionings. These are rather a combination of disturbances. Some are the results of properties taken and the effect these have produced in relation to the functioning of the gastric flow in body. Others we find are inclined to be constitutional, from long standing. Others we find produced rather by the combination of the disturbances.
4. There are tendencies for considerable lack of proper assimilation as to produce red blood cells. Thus there is quite a variation in the numbers of cells. Thus the irregular pulse. But these are the results of conditions produced by the intestinal cold that has caused, combined with properties taken a spasmodic condition in the colon itself. This, combined with the anemia and the general weakness in the body, tends to make for very disagreeable periods.
5. The condition in the colon as we find are responding somewhat to those administrations made at times. But if these administrations were made in a manner not just to make corrections but to relax the body, we would find a great deal better conditions.
6. And we will find that the use of the Radio-Active Appliance as a means for producing sleep will be much better for the body than the sedatives. This may be used for thirty minutes twice a day, in case the body wishes to rest during the day, or for one hour in the evening when ready to retire. But alternate the attachments in each application; that is the same connection that was made to the right wrist at the first application should be made to the left wrist at the next application and so on. It would be better to use this for thirty minutes of morning and for thirty minutes just before retiring. Remain quiet and use that as the period of meditation as a prayer period, as a study period of the spiritual associations of body and mind with the Creative Forces, or God. And we will find a better outlook in every way. Need especially the 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th of John. And know that these words are directed to thee. Learn them so that you may repeat them, but most of all live them.
7. Have two or three series of osteopathic treatments. These should be particularly relaxing through the whole of the cervical area and from the sixth dorsal to the lumbar axis. All of these areas should be relaxed not too much stimulated but relaxed. Have these treatments about twice each week for six to eight treatments. Then leave them off a week or two, and then have another series, and so on.
8. Add to the body a compound that will clarify and build up the general health, with the massage, so as to make for better conditions with this body. Prepare the compound in this manner:
9. To two ounces of Elixir or Lactated Pepsin add:

   A Fusion of Wild Ginseng....1 1/2 ounces,
A Fusion of Wild Ginger.......1/2 ounce.

10. The dose of this (shaking the solution each time) would be a teaspoonful twice each day; preferably after the morning meal and after the evening meal.
11. Also we would take Beef Juice as medicine; about three teaspoonsful during a day but sipped very lightly - or take a minute or minute and a half in sipping a teaspoonful of the Beef Juice.
12. Do these and, as we find, we will make for bettered conditions for this body.
13. Ready for questions.
14. (Q) Should all present treatments be discontinued?
    (A) Be better if all present treatments were discontinued, if all of these here indicated are added.
15. (Q) Is the diagnosis of doctor #4 (Colitis) correct?
    (A) Partially.
16. (Q) Was the nervous collapse which began on Feb. 15th due to this? Or was it the result of a drug given by doctor #1 for the cold for which he treated me, or was it just a part of a general breakdown? If so, what were the contributing factors?
    (A) Read that as given - a combination.
17. We are through with this reading.

Two copies to Self - (one for osteopath - Let us have the name of the one you choose.)

BACKGROUND

1. 6/05/43 Husband's letter:
Mr. Edgar Cayce, Virginia Beach, Va.
   Dear Mr. Cayce;
In the current issue of the CHRISTIAN CENTURY I have just read a very interesting review by Mrs. Marguerite Harmon Bro, of "There is a River" by Thomas Sugrue which seems to be your biography. This seems to be providential to me, as my wife has been ill for over three months and we are unable to get at the cause of her illness. Her system does not react to medicines as most normal systems do, hence it is very puzzling to try to the doctor to try to treat her.
February 14 she had an attack of flu and seemed to recover but had a relapse and it went into nervous break down with digestive and bowel complications. March 1 to 10 we had her in the hospital and on return she was worse and finally after the local M.D. could not get results we tried the chiropractor who discovered she had colitis. She is better from that and able to be up but every few days has to resort to a high enema and she is not able to digest her food only part time. She has lost a lot of weight and is not gaining strength. We have been unable to find what is the cause or what and how to treat her to get over this trouble. We have been to a heavy expense with medicines and doctors and hospital and now are at a loss to know what to do.
2. 9/26/43 She submitted questions:
   1. Is the diagnosis of doctor #4 (Colitis) correct? 2. Was the nervous collapse which began on Feb. 15th due to this? or was it the result of a drug given by doctor #1 for the cold for which he treated me, or was it just a part of a general breakdown? If so, what were the contributing factors? 3. Is the medical and chiropractic treatments (occasional) correct, and if so how long should they be continued? 4. Will it be necessary for me to continue to take, indefinitely, the liver concentrate and iron tablets for anemia? Or will I eventually recover from this anemic condition? (I think perhaps blood count is normal at present.) 5. Should the sleeping tablets be continued, or what course should be followed to get my needed rest? 6. Will I entirely recover and be able to live normally, as I long so much to do, or will I have to live a restricted life from now on? 7. Is there any change in living routine suggested; if so, what?
