This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 5th day of October, 1943, in accordance with request made by the daughter - Mrs. [...], new Associate Member of the Ass'n for Research and Enlightenment, inc., recommended by the book, THERE IS A RIVER.

TEXT

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes - pretty setting.
3. Yes, we have the body here, Mrs. [3265].
4. As we find, there are disturbing conditions that may be materially aided. While the sands of time have run low with this body, there is much that may be accomplished in this experience.
5. In the physical forces there has long been those tendencies through the alimentary canal to give disturbances. These have gradually caused almost a dissipation of those activities of the lymph centers through portions of the abdominal area. This throws onto the centers of the adrenals pressure, which reflexly through the centers from the 3rd cervical to the 5th nerve cause an irritation that gives a great deal of distress to this body.
6. The rest of the body and the vitality we find very good.
7. Then, we would apply these:
8. When there is the least disturbance through the abdominal area - either in the lower portion of the jejunum or in the caecum area - apply the Glyco-Thymoline Packs.
9. Also take Glyco-Thymoline internally; three drops taken in a glass of water at least twice during the day.
10. Then apply each day - either thirty minutes twice each day when the body rests, or an hour once each day, the Radio Active Appliance. This will aid in causing a better balance between the sympathetic and the vegetative nerve system, or from the emunctories and the lymph circulation and the lymph pockets to the various lymph patches that cause this disturbance, from deterioration in nerve centers through portions of the body producing a pressure that causes the inflammation to the 5th nerve.
11. In the diet, keep those things that are easily assimilated; not too much of those foods that are hard to digest. Liquids, vegetable juices - raw as well as cooked; plenty of shell fish and sea foods.
12. Do these and we will find better conditions for the body.

14. (Q) Should any local application be made when there is pain from the tic douloureux?
    (A) The local application would be made to the abdomen as indicated, not to the side of the face; for this would produce greater trouble to the nerves about the head.
    But the use of the Radio-Active Appliance, when this occurs, should equalize it - for it will put the body to sleep and help in equalizing circulation.

   DR. EDWARD A. BROWN OSTEOPATHIC PHYSICIAN
   My dear Edgar Cayce:
   Since not receiving a reply from my last letter, I heard that you were ill, and knowing the press of people for your services, I know that you are way behind on your correspondence.
   However, Mrs. [...] sent me the reading you had made on a case of Tic Douloureux. This is most extraordinary and amazing, for in my examination of Mrs. [...] by means of the Chapman Reflex method of Osteopathic diagnosis, I found an exact parallel in the organs involved. This certainly must mean that I am on the right track with my work - and I am now all the more anxious to spend some time with you next fall. I have referenced to the extract No. 3265-P-I, Female 88 yrs old, given on 10/05/43.
   I do not know - about your Radio Active Appliance, but it appears to me that it absorbs or draws off the abnormal electrical currents generated by a malfunctioning of the body. I am much interested in this too. Very sincerely yours, [signed] Edward A. Brown, D.O.

   Dear Dr. Brown:
   Thank you for your letter of the 30th.
   I am in hopes that you have received a reply to your letter before this, but being away from my desk and away from the office for three or four weeks, has messed things up considerably.
   I thank you very much for what you have to say about Mrs. [3265]'s reading. We have had quite a number of cases of this kind for elderly people, and in many cases it has suggested the radio active appliance.
   This is something that has been suggested in the information, and is not to be obtained on the local market. Each appliance is made up for the individual. We have never attempted to manufacture these commercially. We have a young man, who from his own experience has received a great deal of help from the work and the information, and he is giving part of his time to taking care of the making of these appliances. There are two types of them that have been suggested through the readings for quite a number of years. There is no vibration and there is no electricity in the appliance as is refereed to as Radio-Active. In other words, it is rather a magnet. We have found that by the use of the appliance, in some way or manner, it has brought help for individuals whom it has been suggested for.
   It is not suggested for everyone. It often takes the place of sedatives in putting people to sleep. In fact, there are very few people, if any, if they use the appliance correctly, can refrain from going to sleep with it attached to them.
