Dear Friends:
Over a year ago, I wrote saying that I was trying out the
Koch treatments for my reactivated T.B. I also moved from
Long Island to Colorado to see if a change of climate would
help, but I am not so sure that any of these attempts to
keep down my T.B. has helped! I became negative and stayed
that way for about one year and six months, but about four
months ago I became positive again. So, I am at another
crossroads and about ready to go back to Mr. Cayce's method
of treatments for T.B. as indicated by his readings for me
in 1943 and 1944 (Kept me negative from 1945 to 1949, but
broke down again while still using brandy inhalant, therefore
tried Koch).
I have my own readings and your bulletin of Jan. 1946
[entitled THE PHYSICAL READINGS] on T.B. My readings
did not indicate a change of climate from Long Island, but
Mr. Cayce's readings often recommended Asheville, did they
even give any other specific location in Cities? Our town
has an altitude of 4600 feet but is very dry and consequently
dusty which does get bothersome.
Calcios was suggested for me in
3279-2, a low climate, and I
see Calcidin given for higher altitude. At a sufficiently
high altitude would Calcidin be preferable?
Osteopathic treatment has been recommended in other cases,
but as I have streaked a few times is it possible to take
these manipulations without having the pressure of treatments
breaking a blood vessel in the weakened lung? Can they be
applied gently yet, still be effective?
As to inhaling the apple brandy fumes the amount and method
never seemed specific. At the most, after four years, I took
in about ten easy breaths of fumes three times a day.
Perhaps it was not sufficient; Did not dare to take any
more or deeper breaths for fear of over stimulation. A
friend had inhaled the fumes for five minutes and it caused
bleeding. Can you give me any suggestions from other
patients' experiences?
Do you have a more comprehensive study or summary of readings
for T.B.?
Please let me hear from you as soon as possible. With
thanks,
Sincerely [

Dear Friends:
As a follow-up to my letter of two weeks ago: The x-rays do
not show the focus of infection but the sputum is quite
positive and the question is whether or not there is a T.B.
bronchial infection or a hidden cavity or Bronchiectasis and
T.B. (because of much sputum and bad tastes). It has been
suggested to go to a sanatorium, but I want to try the
Cayce readings first.
My big problem is that I cannot get LAIRD'S APPLE BRANDY
(recommended by Mr. Cayce) in Colorado, or so the local
wholesaler tells me. It is a matter of having a license
to distribute in the State, but Laird's do not have them.
It is illegal to ship it in by mail or express. Can it be
sent in by a doctor's prescription? Would you please consult
one of the doctors on your board of physicians?
Any expense incurred we will cover.
As there is an urgency to this please let me hear from you
soon (Air-mail).
Thank you, [

Dear Mr. [
3279]
I am glad to learn that you have been able to secure a brandy
[Hildrick's Apple Jack] there. I am sure that if it is pure
apple brandy that it will be satisfactory.
Ashville was recommended as were some places in the
Southwest, as well as El Paso, Phoenix and generally high
altitudes in the Southwest. I think we have to consider
that the readings undoubtely took into consideration the
availability of these places for the particular person.
Calcidin was given and will perhaps be helpful. I frankly
do not know whether it has any relationship to the high
altitudes or not. This question could not be accurately
answered until we have made a complete abstract on the
readings for tuberculosis. Osteopathic treatments would,
if given gently, perhaps help the circulation and improve
better coordination and circulation throughout the whole
system. There should be no violent adjustment in the
dorsal area.
In inhaling the apple brandy fumes, begin slowly and increase
this. It should not be taken more than a few breaths at a
time in the beginning. Excessive use of it will undoubtedly
cause irritation and bleeding.
At the present time we do not have a complete study on our
tuberculosis readings.
Do keep us posted on your progress.
Sincerely, HLC:jc

Dear Friends:
I am enclosing my check for Associate membership and for the
booklet and chart on "Economic Healing."
It was so nice of "G.D." to append a note on my "membership
due" letter asking how I was feeling.
At present my T.B. seems quiescent. About a year ago I
entered Lutheran Sanatorium, Wheat Ridge, Colorado and
started on drug therapy - streptomycin and P.A.S. I am now
on limited up-time and was allowed the privilege of one meal
a day in the dining room just this past week.
After my many breakdowns with T.B. through the years since
1933 I've developed more fears and phobias than what would
seem consistent in a person's Search for God.
I do wish you would include me and my spiritual - physical
problems in your prayer project.
It was in 1944 that my wife spoke to "G.D." on the phone from
our the Long Island home and got the results of the emergency
reading that helped stop my lung hemorrhage and gave me four
years of health and activity.
We do miss the person of Edgar Cayce, but his readings will
bring healing to many who follow them. There are those of us
who would benefit from check readings and for that there is
no one to take Mr. Cayce's place.
With sincerest greetings, [
