Mr. Edgar Cayce
Association for Research & Enlightenment
Virginia Beach, Virginia
Dear Mr. Cayce:
While at my northern home in ... I suffered a severe back
injury. I wired you for a reading but up to date have had no
reply to same.
I believe members of the Association have readings for
$10.00. I am, therefore, enclosing you the amount and
request that you give me a date for a reading at the very
earliest possible moment.
Some doctors seem to vary in their opinion regarding what is
wrong so I am very anxious to get the straight of it as soon
as possible.
Trusting to hear from you by return mail, I remain
Yours truly, [

Enc. Chk.
P.S. Since writing the above I have just received your
letter of the 5th. I have suffered with this trouble all
summer and do not want to wait until November for a reading.
Therefore, please in some way arrange to give me a date at
the earliest possible reading which will be at my residence
here in the city.
9/12/44 Mr. Cayce's Secretary's note to [
3288]:
Mr. [
3288], I am sorry to say that Mr. Cayce has been unable
to give any readings at all now for the last few weeks. In
fact, he does not know when he will be able to resume
appointments. He is suffering from complete nerve
exhaustion, due to the strain and worry of the past months
when he has tried to attempt to help everyone at the expense
of his own health. He and Mrs. Cayce are now resting in the
mountains, as his own Check Reading said it was imperative
for him to get away from the office. We are cancelling
appointments every day for people who have already waited
over a year for their readings. I am just as sorry as I can
be that he was not able to get your reading before he had to
discontinue. We are hoping and praying that he will be able
to continue the readings within a few weeks. If so, he
should be able to keep your Nov. 3rd appointment. However, I
don't see any possible chance before that.
Have you tried a good osteopath? If the injury is to the
tissue and there is inflammation, I'd suggest Glyco-Thymoline
Packs for relief. At least it won't hurt to try these.
Sincerely, GD
