Mr. Edgar Cayce

Dear Mr. Cayce:
This is a petition for a physical reading. Two weeks ago I
read the story of your life and it gave me hope again,
feeling I could get along on the stimulus of it, and overshy
to request the great service from you.
For six years I have not been well enough to work in the
organized system, and earn a living. Work: College teacher
of creative arts. From the medical profession I can get no
relief, two doctors have diagnosed secondary anemia. Other
doctors merely skeptical, find nothing. Manifestation of the
trouble is centered chiefly in the digestive-intestinal
tract. Hemorrhoids also present. Period of difficulty has
covered many phases of ailments over a period of years. Age
45. Bronchial asthma which is not as bad now as it was
twenty years ago.
All conditions and obligations will be most gratefully met.
I have complete faith in your gift. My own life tries to
move on the True path. And it is in my longing, since
reading of your work, to contribute some effort towards the
permanence and greater scope of this goal. May I state that
in recent years, in my awareness, for some unknown reason I
have been attracted towards the physical environment of
Virginia Beach. I have been held by the fact that in your
life readings you were apprised that the environment of large
bodies of water was conductive to your work. This is always
true for my work; I seem to gain something by painting water,
and skies.
The beauty for this day is that your work bear even more
fruit.
Sincerely, [

we can, in the time to come.

We note with regret the passing of Edgar Cayce. We had the
benefit of a physical reading from him in 1943, and enclose
poem written for him on reading the book: "There is a
River."
For Edgar Cayce
To you who came before us
Yet bringing for us a greater love,
To you who brought to the world of men
Yourself wrought more beautiful
Because you chose to be born again,
To you who renewed in us the ever young
In your own strength and in your dream,
We shall join with you from the summits
of our memory,
And you shall be joy even because
of our more perfect day.
