This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 27th day of November, 1943, in accordance with request made by the daughter - Mrs. [3653], new Associate Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

TEXT

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Weather is not very conducive to conditions, is it? We have the body here, [3417].
3. Here as we find, only nursing and care may be of any particular aid or help for this body. If there is prayer, meditation, if there is the desire aroused in the body to meet resistances, days and weeks and months may be added. But without this desire being aroused in the body, physically little can be accomplished for the body in the present - for those conditions in the heart, as well as in the central portion of brain, where clot has caused paralysis and inactivity of many of the organs of the sensory system. For these touch in the area of the 1st cervical, or medulla oblongata, to say nothing of those conditions which exist in the second sphincter center of the anus.
4. These all tend toward disintegration.
5. Care then, by the nurse, and massages with oil following a hot sponge off, and prayer, and conversation to the body when it may be aroused to activity, may prolong the days.
6. For the massage, with this combination of oils; using:

   Olive Oil...........................2 ounces,
Tincture of myrrh (heat the oil
to add the Myrrh................2 ounces,
Calamus Oil.........................4 drops.

   (A) Not at this time - unless there are great changes in the desire of the mind-body.

BACKGROUND

1. 11/18/43 Daughter [3653]'s letter: "Four mos. ago he had a heart attack (blood clot)...5 wks. later blood clot moved to brain and stroke resulting caused paralysis of right side and loss of speech. Paralysis has disappeared and brain seems perfectly clear, but still can't talk - makes unintelligible noises. Recently Dr. Clarence Adams said he had cancer of the rectum...unable to get out of bed...very religious man."
   Can his speech be restored? Can he be cured of cancer? If the treatments are faithfully followed, how long will it take him to completely recover? Would appreciate any suggestions as to how his daughter [3653] could help him financially secure the treatments suggested.
