This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 2nd day of January, 1944, in accordance with request made by the wife - Mrs. [...], new Associate Member of the Ass'n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc.

TEXT

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, Dr. [3431].
2. As we find, here there is the lack of developments in the glandular forces to supply sufficient energies in muscular forces for the control of flexes through the locomotories.
3. While this has progressed far, we find that if there is the consistent application of suggestions that may be made here we may supply elements in such manners as to aid the glandular system in assimilation and in control of these conditions; so that gradually the greater control may be gained over body-reflexes.
4. Some administrations have caused reactions in brain centers, and we find that these should be diminished and left off - that control the nerve impulses from sensory forces to the activities of brain reflexes; else the last estate will be worse than the first.
5. Sedatives or hypnotics do not heal. They cure nothing. They are not even palliatives but are rather destructive forces to brain and nerve flexes.
6. Begin with the use of the low Wet Cell Appliance carrying into the body vibratorially the Chloride of Gold, in the proportions of one grain Chloride of Gold Sodium to each ounce of Distilled Water - and use at least three ounces.
7. The charging solution for the Appliance would be half again as strong as ordinarily used; that is, to the gallon and a half of Distilled Water:

   Copper Sulphate......................2 pounds,
Sulfuric Acid C.P................1 1/2 ounces,
Zinc................................60 drams.
No Charcoal in this charge.

8. The large nickel plate, through which the Gold Solution passes vibratorially to the body, should be attached to the umbilical and lacteal duct plexus - which on this body will be four fingers from the navel center to the right and three fingers up from that point.
9. The small copper plate would be attached to the 9th dorsal.
10. Use the Appliance in this manner for thirty minutes each day for at least fifteen days.
11. Then leave off the Gold Solution and use in its place the Spirits of Camphor (commercial strength). The large nickel plate would still be attached to the umbilical and lacteal duct plexus, but the small plate would then be attached to the 4th lumbar center.
12. This would be used each day for thirty minutes, for fifteen days.
13. Then recharge the Appliance, and repeat - renewing both the Gold Solution and the Camphor Solution.
14. Do keep the attachment plates very, very clean; polishing them with emery paper each time before and after using. Take the connections from the Solution when not in use, and put them on the Appliance about twenty minutes before the attachments are to be made to the body.
15. Each day following the Appliance treatment, do massage the limbs; commence at the toes and go up the body at least to the 9th dorsal area. Commence at the fingers and go at least to the base of the brain and from there downward to the 9th dorsal. For such a massage, use these oils - combined in the order named:

    Oil of Pine Needles, as the base.....4 ounces,
Nujol (or Usoline)...................2 ounces,
Olive Oil............................2 ounces,
Lanolin (liquefied)................1/2 ounce,
Oil of Sassafras Root..............1/4 ounce.

16. Shake the solution and pour a small quantity into an open saucer and massage in a circular motion all the body will absorb, daily. Do not pour back into the bottle any of the oils that may be left in the saucer. These will separate, so shake them well before these are applied each time. Then sponge off the body with rub alcohol.
17. Keep in the diet a great deal of those things that carry iron, silicon and phosphorous.
18. KalDak will be a good tonic. Take a heaping teaspoonful every other day, at first dissolved in a little hot water and then the tumbler filled with milk and cream - or milk that has not been separated from the cream.
19. Do these things and we will make better conditions. Be consistent, be persistent.
20. Be mindful that the healing is for creative forces, that ye may aid others. Thy purposes in some respects have been well. Ye know thine own faults and need not be told of same. Correct thy ways, and ye will find bettered conditions, and ye may take thy place again as a helpful influence for thy fellow man.

BACKGROUND

1. 9/26/43 Wife's letter: "I feel that medical science has failed in this case. He has 3 times within the last 16 months been to the Mayo Clinic has spent 7 weeks in Medical Centre, N.Y., and has been to the Vaughan Clinic in Richmond, Va... He was a flier in the last war, had walking typhoid while in Egypt. Became very allergic 10 years ago and has been on a wheat-free diet since. Four years ago his eyesight started to fail. Two years ago short spells of amnesia were experienced, a recovery from which left his eyesight worse. Eight months ago he had LaGrippe and from it a loss of memory for one week with eyesight so much worse that could only resume part of his work. Six months ago was found unconscious, complete loss of memory, almost total blindness, and is in this condition at the time of writing. Five leading medical men have diagnosed his case as: 1. Vascular Lesions 2. Arterial Sclerosis 3. Brain Tumor 4. Gradual deterioration of Brain 5. Angio-Neurotic Oedema of Meninges due to Allergy... I might state that he has had a spinal tap, 3 electric encephalograms and 1 air ventriculogram, all of which showed negative findings."

REPORTS

1. GD's note: We understood later from Mr. A. M. Godfrey, who was making up the Wet Cell Appliances to order for each case, that Dr. [3431]'s wife did order the Appliance carrying the Gold. We did not hear again from her. I assume that following EC's death the treatment was discontinued, or she may not have gotten under way with it at all.
