Mr. Edgar Cayce
Virginia Beach, Va.
Dear Sir:
I am enclosing my application and money order for associate
membership in the Association for Research and Enlightenment,
Inc. My reading is scheduled for the 21st of this month.
The following is a list of statements and questions requested
by you:
Two years ago, September 6, 1941, I was operated on for a
tumor of the spine. It was impossible to remove the tumor
due to the fact that it would have paralyzed me from the
waist down. I was informed that by taking x-ray treatments
they would be able to shrink the tumor. After the operation
they gave me x-ray treatments daily for two weeks and I was
discharged from the hospital. Six weeks later I took a few
more x-ray treatments. Since that time I have not taken the
treatments because God has told me that the tumor is gone and
I have never doubted his word. My back has been badly burned
by these treatments and therefore I can't stand any pressure
against it. My vertebrates seem to have grown together so
tight that every move I make hurts me. My spine seems tight,
hard and shortened and every attempt to stoop pains me
severely. My legs seem to bother me more than my back. They
seem to be getting stiffer all the time. The leaders in my
legs are so tight that I sometimes feel that I can't walk.
When walking I have to be supported by something to keep from
losing my balance. The numbness of my legs seems to leave
them cold all the time. My abdomen is swollen and has been
even before the operation. I am anemic and probably this has
something to do with the numb feeling in my legs. It seems
as though the muscles have slipped from my waist making it
very uncomfortable for me when I sit. It feels like I am
sitting on bones. Is there any help for me?
This letter may sound a little confused to you. If there are
any questions you would like to have answered before giving
the reading, please call me at my home anytime and reverse
the charges. My phone number is ..., Pa., ...
I will be at my home from 10:30 to 11:30 praying and thinking
of my reading. I am very anxious to hear from you and am
sure that you and God can help me.
Very truly yours, Mrs. [
3467] Encl.

Dear Mr. Cayce
We can't find any Plantain plants around here they are all
frozen, and cannot buy any in the drug stores, please advise
me where to get them. You did not advise me what to do for
the stiffness in my back. The spine is terribly stiff.
Please tell me where to get this plant.
Sincerely, Mrs. [

Dear Mrs. [
3467]:
Replying to yours of the 2nd, possibly you will be able to
get someone in the South to get the Plantain for you.
I believe if you will write Mr. T. R. Wirsing, 1001 3rd St.,
S.W., Roanoke, Virginia, he may possibly be able to get it
for you.
I think, Mrs. [
3467] you are to begin with these things that
were given you and as conditions develop that it will give
you further information about the things that are disturbing.
Be sure to write Mr. Wirsing and then let me know what he is
able to do for you.
Hoping that we may be the means of a help.
Sincerely, Edgar Cayce
