TEXT

1. GC: You will give the relations of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces, giving the conditions which are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth plane, giving time, place and the name, and that in each life which built or retarded the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the present entity, that to which it may attain, and how. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Beaver County - same cycle as Oil City!
3. Yes, we have the records here of that entity now known as or called [3478].
4. In giving the interpretations of the records here, these we find most interesting. Some characteristics of the entity are not easily understood by others - as the entity has the appearance often of being either much wiser than it pretends to be, or not sincere with what it indicates, or at times of hiding things that others would like to know. These make the entity easily misunderstood. Others take exceptions at times and thus misunderstandings are caused.
5. This isn't to imply that the entity hasn't a lovely character, or that it hasn't a great many friends - yet it gives the entity the feeling ofttimes of being quite lonely, or of being talked about by others when the entity knows in itself there's nothing to be talked about!
6. In giving the interpretations we choose from these records with the desire and purpose that this information be a helpful experience for the entity, enabling the entity to better fulfil those purposes for which it entered this sojourn.
7. And the entity could scarcely have entered this experience without being associated with a doctor, or without being one itself - or a nurse! For it is a life's pattern for the entity. Not that each experience has been a full or complete development, yet the innate activities have ever been such that the entity could return again and a gain - though in most experiences there were periods when the entity didn't practise what it would like to preach to others - in regard to giving direction for the care of body or of mind, or diet, or one form or another of health-giving influences.
8. As to activities latent and manifested from astrological aspects, these have been altered so often that we find some characteristics indicated in the natures of the entity itself and the impressions that are oft indicated in its associations with others.
9. In Mercury we find the entity high-minded, and at times all-knowing to its own undoing. At other periods we find the ability to think through, and to be a good conversationalist.
10. We find in Venus the appreciation of home, and yet never giving much thought or care - as the entity would imply in self, or really innately feels that self has a good excuse - but don't use it as an excuse! Rather let it be as thy purpose to contribute to the welfare of others. But do in self first practise spirituality. This doesn't imply that the entity is not high-minded, for we have just given that it is - but practise! You will be able in ministering physically or mentally to give others much greater and more far-reaching influences, as well as self, by giving individuals something to live for, within as well as without themselves! For he that contributes only to his own welfare soon finds little to work for. He that contributes only to the welfare of others soon finds too much of others and has lost the appreciation of self, or of its ideals.
11. In Jupiter we find the universal or cooperative or helpful influences, that the entity needs to practise the more in its associations in social as well as material and religious forces or influences about the entity.
12. We find in Saturn those great changes, not only in the material ways but in its mental attitudes, and in its relationships with others.
13. In Uranus we find those extremes to which the entity would go, as to what it thinks of some other groups or individuals, and as to what groups or individuals think of the entity. They may be at the extremes, first one up and then the other down.
14. But, as indicated in Jupiter, these need to be coordinated first in self and then - as indicated - when you cast the mote out of thine own eye, or the beam out of thine own eye, thou canst see better how to cast the beam out of thy brother's eye, or mote. Don't be blinded by the material things when the mental and spiritual are much more far-reaching in aiding those in body and mind to the correcting of their mental as well as physical disturbances.
15. As to the appearances in the earth, we find that these have been quite varied.
16. Before this the entity was in the earth during those periods when activities were established as related to aiding those in the Crimean War.
17. The entity was a helper as a nurse, one contributing to the welfare. Thus we will find the entity much more successful with young men, and men, than with women, in treating them. This is very unusual in its application, but will be true if tested in the entity's experience.
18. The name then was Maud Holomon. The entity gained, yet let self draw so on its own sources of ability as to destroy much of the strength for activities in later life. Know that the power or strength for any influence as related to the help of others must come from the universal source and not from self alone. For the individual may sow the seed, the Infinite must give the increase - it must do the multiplying. Man can detract, but he can add little to God's purpose in the earth save through the grace and mercy of God Himself.
19. Before that the entity was in the Holy Land during those periods when healings were being attempted and practised by the Disciples or Apostles, during and after the activities of the Master in the earth.
20. The entity was among those of the household of the jailor whom Paul aided when he was released from prison. Following the experience the entity then, as the wife of the jailor, made profession of the faith and became active as a healer.
21. Hence the entity will find in itself today, if there is the renewing of the spiritual influences from within, the laying on of hands or the magnetic treatment will be very effective under the hands of this entity.
22. The name then was Juliah.
23. Before that the entity was in those activities that followed the return of the children of promise to the Holy City, when the activities were brought about by Nehemiah in the third of the drawings upon the crowds.
24. Then in the name Samantha, the entity became associated with those who labored in and about the temple. The great stresses laid by the varied leaders at that time brought a characteristic to the entity that is apparent in its present personality: when others dispute among themselves the entity chooses its own way and goes along without considering any. And these are the periods when the entity is misinterpreted, or judged on the one hand as knowing much more than it gives expression to, and on the other hand as being not just exactly in the same line that it would pretend in thought.
25. These are the experiences. Not as faults, but as misapplication at times of a virtue that is apparent from the experiences through that particular period when the entity contributed to the welfare of others as a nurse and as a physician.
26. Before that the entity was in the Egyptian land when there were those activities which had to do with the Temple of Sacrifice.
27. Then the entity was what today would be called a bleeder, or one who operated with certain activities for the removal of appendages for some of the beings or individuals of that period.
28. The name then was Asta-Olaxen.
29. As to the abilities of the entity in the present - these may be only limited by the desires and purposes of the entity, and in the measures that ye mete it is measured to thee again. For what manner ye treat others, expect and ye will receive as much or more in return.
30. If ye would be friendly, then ye will have friends. If ye will be selfish, then ye will have a question. If ye will be jealous, then ye will have those that speak unkindly of thee. These are natural laws. These do not change.
31. Apply self in the art of home building, of contributing to the welfare of others, and keep the faith first in God, treating thy neighbor as ye would have thy neighbor treat thee.
32. Ready for questions.
33. (Q) What were the past associations between myself and my husband, [3360], and what can be done for the best mutual development in the present?
    (A) In the Egyptian experience as well as in the Holy Land experiences. Ye were very close in Egypt, and these may be used as a means or source of helpfulness. In the Holy Land ye could have been close, but ye doubted one another.
34. (Q) Any other associations which it would be especially helpful for me to know of?
    (A) Not in this association with the husband, as we find.
35. We are through with this Reading.

BACKGROUND

1. 12/04/43 [3478]'s letter to EC:
   Dear Mr. Cayce;-
Regarding my life reading, I think the preamble as given by Mrs. Cayce in the beginning of Doctor's reading [Husband, Dr. [3360]] fits the situation very nicely, and if not brought out in the reading, I would like to know something about an incarnation in Palestine at the time of Christ, if there was one at that time, and also if there was one in Egypt in any way connected with the Pyramids, or that section of the country.
May be the unanswered questions asked by Doctor can be given at this time, especially as to our relationship in former incarnations.
