TEXT

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [3489].
3. As we find, there are disturbing conditions that prevent the better physical functionings through the body. These are rather complex in their nature, in that some definite disturbances have for a time been preventing the better assimilation through the digestive forces; producing a form of anemia.
4. Then applications have been made without the correction of the sources that have caused the combination of disturbances through the body-functionings.
5. These, then, are the conditions as we find them with this body:
6. In the blood supply there are the indications of a form of anemia. This is partially from the interferences that have arisen by pressures that exist in the transverse colon. This has caused an activity in the areas about the liver and the gall duct and pancreas that is preventing the proper assimilation and the proper cooperation of the gastric flows of the duodenum into the pyloric portion of stomach, and the combination of the lactics through and from those glands in the cardiac portion of stomach.
7. Thus the headaches that have arisen at times come from the putrefaction or lack of proper digestion in stomach itself. And this passing in or through the duodenum, not being acted upon by the flows from spleen, pancreas and the gall duct, causes gas and those tendencies for the accumulations that also upset the regularity in heart's activity.
8. These are disturbances, then, as we find through the body. The impulses that have first caused these disturbances have come from subluxations existent in the sacral and lumbar areas. These necessarily have caused a form of lesion in the 3rd cervical, and a lateral lesion in the 1st and 2nd cervical.
9. Hence we have pains across the back at times that extend down over the hips, and again in the areas at the base of brain extending down between the shoulder blades; heaviness, tiredness as a result of these disturbances through the system.
10. As to the effect upon the organs of the body:
11. Brain forces are very good. It is unusual that there have not come greater distresses in the organs of the sensory system from these subluxations; though at times these activities are not in perfect coordination. Things don't taste just right at times. This is because of the pressures in the 2nd and 3rd dorsal sympathetically from the 3rd cervical. There are periods when the headaches occur and noises in head, the vision becoming disturbed - not impaired organically, other than the regular disturbance that comes from use, age, wear, or general debilitation.
12. The addition of properties to the body to build up, without the relief of those disturbances causing this activity in the assimilating system and thus reducing the red blood supply, does not aid but produces greater disorders through the body.
13. In making corrections for this body, we find that this would be the better procedure:
14. First begin with a series of colonic irrigations. These will not only aid in relieving gas and distresses in the abdominal area but, if done properly, will also relieve those tendencies in the area of the lower sphincter centers - and relieve those tendencies toward irritation in the area that is disturbed at times by straining, when there are evacuations.
15. There should be required just sufficient colonics to eliminate all of the mucous that will be indicated through the colon area. There should not be the attempt to remove all of this at once, but it would require some two, three to four colonics. There should be at least a week to ten days between the first two, and two weeks between the next two.
16. After the system has been purified by the colonics (not before), begin with making correction osteopathically of those subluxations in the 3rd cervical, 3rd, 4th and 5th dorsal, 9th dorsal, and through the lumbar and sacral axis. These should be very thorough treatments, relaxing the body twice to one period of making adjustments and stimulating treatments.
17. Throughout these periods, especially while the colonics are being given, keep a laxative diet for the body - concentrated foods that are not too hard in digestion; such as whole grain cereals and plenty of citrus fruit juices (though these not at the same meal - rather alternate these, using the cereals one day and the fruit juices the next day); plenty of raw vegetables, especially water cress, celery, lettuce, carrots and the like. These should be prepared in varied manners - with gelatin at times (Jello), with oils at times, with salad dressings at times, with fruits, nuts and the like. Go slow on nuts until after at least the second colonic has been given, else the body might have a headache spell. But these should be the types of foods to supply the vital energies.
18. After at least six to eight osteopathic treatments have been given, then begin to build up the body - keeping thorough eliminations all the while, even if laxatives are necessary at times. Alternate these - one time using a mineral laxative, and two times a vegetable laxative - that proportion, you see. These in their variation will prevent the greater putrefaction and keep a better balance in the system's activity.
19. Then begin taking once a week, for at least twenty-five weeks, a teaspoonful of ACIGEST in a glass of raw milk - preferably at the evening meal.
20. At the same time begin taking CALCIOS twice a week for at least thirteen weeks. Twice a week, preferably at the noon meal but at opposite ends of the week, eat a whole wheat cracker thinly spread with the Calcios.
21. Do these and we will build for this body a nearer normal balance.
22. Keep the attitude of constructive thinking. Not only be good - be good for something purposefully! Plan those periods of constructive expression of self - we will find all conditions improving for this body.
23. Ready for questions.
24. (Q) What causes the faint spells?
    (A) Pressure on the heart circulation.
25. (Q) Would operation recently suggested be advisable?
    (A) Not necessary if these suggestions here made are followed. To remove the hemorrhoids we would remove the cause, which is the plethora in the transverse colon and close to the descending colon, where the pressure is upon the nerves directly to the heart, sympathetically - or the heart circulation.
But do these in the manner indicated - we will have better conditions for this body.
Do have the colonics scientifically given. Don't attempt to do them yourself - at least for the first two. Through these remove the mucus from the colon.
26. (Q) What should be done for the catarrhal discharge that drains in the back of my throat?
    (A) Correct this through the osteopathic adjustments that will be made in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd cervical, and in the first or the upper dorsals. Also this should be much improved with the setting up of new reactions by proper drainages, so that the sinus and the acid conditions would be much improved.
27. We are through with this Reading.

BACKGROUND

1. 11/29/43 [3489]'s letter:
   Dear Mr. Cayce,-
I am enclosing my application for Membership in the Association for Research & Enlightenment, Inc. and the check for dues of $20.00.
Mrs. Harrell of Washington D.C. and, also, a librarian, whose name I can't recall now, recommended the fine work you are doing to me several years ago when we were vacationing at Courtney Terrace, Virginia Beach. I regret very much not having known you years ago.
I have a secondary anemia evidently caused by some infection which until now the doctors have not been able to locate or localize. Have taken liver over a period of years intermittently and steadily since last March. This has been accompanied by some loss of weight, sinking spells and constant indigestion and neuralgia. As I am gradually losing strength, I would appreciate it if you would give me a reading in case you have a cancellation in the near future. Otherwise I shall be patient and await my turn.
2. 12/09/43 [3489]'s letter: First; what causes these sudden spasms in my left side about my waist and up under and through my heart?
What causes the aching I have in my arms and legs and even in my fingers?
I have a catarrhal discharge that drains in the back of my throat and consequently causes a continual discomfort in my bronchial tubes. When I awaken in the mornings, I have a stiffness in my neck and my face swells while I sleep - especially the left side.
Several years ago I gave up smoking because I had what my doctor called functional or "false" angina. I have these same attacks if I'm not very careful about what I eat and I swell & bloat after my meals.
Is a hemorrhoid operation necessary as one doctor has advised me?
I have a fullness in my colon about the waistline & up under my heart. Even with a deep breath at times you can hear the air and gurgling sound there and the pains are severe and there is always a definite soreness in that region.
What is the underlying cause of all these aches and pains and what causes the anemia and spells of weakness & near fainting I have? Recently the headaches and backaches are more severe and I'm so thoroughly tired all the time. The most depressing pain is in & through my heart. I don't relax or sleep well, either.
   Sincerely, Mrs. [3489]
