TEXT

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [3492].
3. Now as we find, there are disturbing conditions that prevent the better physical functioning of the body. These are rather complex in their nature. First, the disturbances that upset the system as related to the eliminations and assimilations are produced by the activity of the liver, the gall duct, the pancreas and the spleen. Then, with the activities under this distress, the breaking down of the lymph circulation has caused the lack of vitality - or the proper circulation to the lower limbs.
4. Hence we have a cause and an effect, the result of disturbances produced by other characters of activities under the stress of the conditions at the time.
5. We find that these may be materially aided. It will require patience and persistence. For, there must be a changing in the general attitude of the body towards its desire for the abilities to be active in a constructive way and manner; not merely for the material self but purposeful for the creative activities.
6. For, what is the source of all healing for human ills? From whence doth the body receive life, light, or immortality? That the body as an active force is the result of spirit and mind, these coordinating and cooperating, enables the entity to bring forth in the experience that which may be used - or the using of the abilities of whatever nature. Each soul has within its power that to use which may make it at one with Creative Forces or God. These are the sources from which life, light, and the activity of body, mind and soul may manifest in whatever may be the active source or principle in the mind of the individual entity. As experienced here, there has been a disregard of the body. There has been the abuse of the organs of the body by some dissipation, in mind and in body.
7. The activities of the liver, the gall duct, the spleen, the pancreas, all have brought disorders.
8. There are, then, as given those influences in the nature of man that may supply that needed. For, man in his nature - physical, mental and spiritual - is a replica, is a part of whole universal reaction in materiality.
9. Hence there are those elements which if applied in a material way, if there is the activity with same of the spirit and mind, may bring into the experience of each atom of the body force or cell itself the awareness of the Creative Force or God. It may only rise as high as the ideal held by the body-mind.
10. Hence there is the one way, the source. For in Him is all life, all health, all mind, all knowledge and immortality to the soul-mind itself.
11. Then apply self in that manner of reading the Holy Word - the 30th of Deuteronomy. Get its meaning as being written to thee: that if thou forsake the Lord these shall come upon thee, if thou harken unto His words these are the promises - that He will be with thee in the things thou doest, in the things thou thinkest, in the things thou would be. Not somewhere else, neither in heaven nor in hell nor over the seas, but within thine own body. For thy body is the Temple of the Living God. Use it as such, and not as a place for the lowest of earth and low thinking. Rather treat it as the altar of God. Sacrifice therein thine own appetites and offering to Him those praises, those honors due for that He has given to thee.
12. When thou hast done these, apply materially the promises as in the 14th and 15th of John, and ye will know good in thine own life.
13. We would make these material applications. Don't do it until you have prayed very oft, or it'll be more harm than good! For one hour each day, for three days in succession, apply hot Castor Oil Packs over the liver. Apply the Packs warm, sufficient to make for that radiation of activity to the body, and then apply the electric pad - that throughout the whole body there may be that radiation which brings the elimination of poisons from the body.
14. On the evening of the third day take internally half a teacup of Olive Oil.
15. Then rest from these five days, then repeat for three days - again taking the Olive Oil.
16. Do this for at least three series, after you have found yourself and your relationships to the Creator. Without finding that, apply it not.
17. Then begin with the careful massage daily of the whole sacral area, the hips, across the hips and the limbs, to the points of the pelvic bones and down through the area of the sciatic centers; using cocoa butter - all that will be absorbed.
18. And we will find, if these are given, if these are applied spiritually, mentally, materially, the body will walk again - it will have the use of the limbs - it will be rid of those disturbances through the alimentary canal and the liver disturbance. A healing will come for the liver activities, and the kidneys and prostate disturbances will be eliminated from this body.
19. Ready for questions.
20. (Q) Will the circulation be restored to normal? If so, how?
    (A) As indicated, according to thy faith and thy application there will be brought near normalcy back to the activities of this body.
21. We are through with this Reading.

BACKGROUND

1. 10/23/43 Wife's letter: "Severe bilious attacks for many years...some doctors call it gall bladder trouble. One says it is caused by an over-secretion of bile, while another says there is not enough secretion for proper digestion. Still another says it is caused by poison from kidneys. In 1941 had what doctors called a collapsed artery [arterial occlusion] in left foot...they were able to save his foot by using a Pavex Suction Pressure Boot to restore the circulation. The circulation is still not normal, as his foot stays much colder than the rest of his body... Developed high blood pressure, and in Feb. 1942 had what was thought to be a slight stroke. His speech was affected greatly for a while, as well as his right hand, but all that cleared up after a time. His present physician says he thinks it was a temporary slow-up of the circulation instead of a stroke. His blood pressure goes up at times yet."
   1. What is causing the trouble and what remedy do you suggest? 2. What may be taken to correct the trouble? 3. Can the circulation be restored to normal? If so, how? 4. What can be done to cure high blood pressure?

REPORTS

1. 2/28/44 Wife's letter:
   ..., Texas
Mr. Edgar Cayce Virginia Beach, Virginia
   Dear Mr. Cayce:
I have waited to write you until I could give you some definite information concerning my husband's condition. I am happy to say that his condition has greatly improved since your reading in Nov. He has had only one attack of the gall bladder trouble and that was in Dec. Soon after we began the treatment. Since then he has continued to improve. We are continuing the massage and find that the circulation is improving rapidly.
Tests still show a small amount of albumin in the kidneys, but that, too, has cleared up greatly. The blood pressure is remaining normal now. We are enclosing a small donation of $5.00 which we hope you will accept for your Living Sponsorship. We are sorry that we cannot send more at this time, but, at present we are still paying hospital, doctor and drug accounts which are long past due.
2. GD's note: Later she made an appointment for her own Physical Rdg. which had to be cancelled due to EC's illness.
