This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 20th day of January, 1944, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [3579], new Associate Member of the Ass'n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Mrs. Margueritte H. Bro.

TEXT

1. GC: You will give the relations of this entity and the universe, and the universe forces; giving the conditions which are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth plane, giving time, place and the name, and that in each life which built or retarded the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the present entity, that to which it may attain, and how. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the records here of that entity now known as or called [3579].
3. What an unusual array of abilities! A musician, an artist, a dancer, housekeeper, business woman - any or all of these!
4. In giving an interpretation of the records of this entity, there is much from which to choose. But we choose these with the desire and purpose to be of help. For, understand, many interpretations might be given of what an entity has done about or with opportunities through the experiences in the earth, and as to what usages urges have been put during the interims between material manifestations - these make for the influence had upon the entity in the present. Not that these are to be chosen as individual, save as the individual entity would choose same.
5. Then, we would choose these with the desire and purpose that this information might be applied by the entity in making the opportunities offered in this experience of more value in the periods to come, as well as in the present.
6. We would magnify virtues, we would minimize faults. Thus we have many faculties or many virtues, many abilities, many qualifications through which the entity may apply itself. Some, to be sure, are from the material phase wherein there may be made material success, even fame. For the entity could write a good song if it would, for it is innately a very good musician in itself. For the entity could set about that which would lead to a revolution in the form of a dance. But what do either of these add to the entity's spirituality? and for what purpose does an entity enter a material plane other than to prepare self for a better relationship to that for which it was in the beginning created, to be a companion with the Creator?
7. This does not indicate, as from some angles, that there is no joy, pleasure or even renown to be gained in materiality, but rather the opposite. They who walk the closer with the Creative Forces should be indeed those who are fuller of joy, pleasure, peace and harmony within. Not those who live for themselves that they may have an experience. For life is a manifestation of God, and the manner of life one lives is an entity's concept of what such an entity would like to have its Creator be, for that's what the entity is himself!
8. Then, this is the manifestation as apparent and as latent and possible in the experience of this entity.
9. Astrologically we find experiences in which the entity at times is very positive, and at others it is very well set in allowing someone else to take the lead; yet it doesn't necessarily mean the entity has changed its mind, but rather is has merely acceded to circumstance. Hence the entity is very versatile in handling people as it likes. So, whatever the entity sets about to do, that it may accomplish. Not necessarily that it is all good, but the entity can accomplish it. For remember, the powers of good and evil depend upon the purpose and the ideal to which one may use them. But there is latent within this entity those abilities to be a power for good, to move communities, states, even nations, or that in which there may be manifested the selfish nature or motive - which may not go much farther than the own present day. But the abilities are there! Apply them, and in thy next appearance ye may be in those positions where many may take orders from thee if ye wish.
10. But remember ever, they that would serve the more are the greater in the kingdom of heaven.
11. Those urges latent in Mars make the entity not necessarily a busybody, though it can be if it desires and mess up people's lives as well as its own! or it can use such to straighten them out! For, as in every individual entity, there are the abilities arising that are the positive and the negative, dependent upon what an entity has done with the abilities.
12. But Mars gives a great activity. One who will travel about much, see many strange places, experience many unusual things.
13. In Venus we have Saturn in the adverse. Changes, then, have been wrought in the emotions as to love and friendship. Hence disappointments, discouragements through these associations and activities have been and may be the experience of the entity, and as we shall see, "As ye sow, so shall ye reap."
14. Also in Jupiter we find the beneficient influences where there are those activities in which the entity finds peace, in doing that which is helpful and encouraging to others, as much as or more than in doing or having for its own self. These should be magnified.
15. As to the appearances in the earth, these are tending toward the characteristics of the entity's personality, and find expressions in the emotional influences of the body. While all are not given, we give those in the cycle of its present unfoldment - and as there are great changes indicated in the associations and relationships with the opposite sex before this present year is changed, these will be well, for these are indicated from the sojourn just before this.
16. For, the entity was in the land of the present nativity during those periods when there were the settlings in Alabama and Lousiana by the followers of Napoleon.
17. The entity then was among those who were of the friends to the Ney family, and those who returned to France. As one Franceine Laureen, the entity was among those who remained in the land; as a musician and a dancer who not only developed but brought much joy, much interpretation of music as well as the thought of expression in self for body and mind. These have remained with the entity as portions of the experience, as they will ever be a part of this soul-entity.
18. For as we find, body, mind and soul are very definite entities. The three influences within are the entity, but there is the soul-body, the mind-body and the physical-body, each with its attributes and purposes coordinated making the entity, or the soul-entity, or the entity that may be one with or one against Creative Forces in the earth.
19. Before that the entity was in the French land in the days of the first Crusades.
20. The entity was every whit a woman, even through those experiences and that development of which the entity should be mindful, through those periods when the entity felt neglected and deserted.
21. Hence the tendency to want to get even with others. "Vengeance is mine, saith the Lord," remember. Do away with those things that create wrath and anger, and we will do away with the results that come within thine own experience for giving vent to these in thy relationships with others.
22. The name then was Renee Elmswurt. The entity gained, lost and gained in the abilities of the good hostess, the abilities to work with the hands, to be versatile with activities in its relationships with others, and to be the wonderful conversationalist. But in those things personally latent as to hate and as to vengeance, not so good.
23. Let these be disseminated from thy purpose, and there will be less of disappointment, there will be more of friendship, grace and mercy. As ye give to others it is given back to thee.
24. Before that the entity was in the Gobi land when there was the "city in the hills" and that known as the dwelling place of the ancient one.
25. There the entity was in the household of the ruler, then Gobuen. The entity was a teacher, an instructor.
26. Hence in the present there are those interest still in theories and philosophies of the ancients, and what would be called sentences that are in themselves sermons rather than the great tirades being given; teachings of whole philosophies that are put in a few words - these are innate and manifested things in the entity.
27. Before that the entity was in the Atlantean land during those periods when there were activities that brought about the questionings which arose between the two great forces, the period before the first destruction of the land.
28. The entity was among the children of the Law of One, a princess, yea one who cared much for those THINGS that were parts of the activity having been brought about by the great teacher in those experiences. The entity aided in helping those to overcome, when they became aware of the relationships of the individual entity to the universal consciousness or God.
29. These were periods of progression. For the entity then lived to be a thousand years old, in years as termed today, and saw great changes come about, not only in the earth but in those ways in which preparations were made for the advent of the souls of men to be brought to their relationships with the Creative Forces or God.
30. The name then was Eosme.
31. As to the abilities of the entity in the present, that to which it may attain, and how:
32. No better advice may be given than to just be thy own self. Know in Whom and in what you have believed. Know Who is the author of thy hope, thy faith. Then live like it, studying to show thyself approved unto God, a workman not ashamed, rightly stressing the words of truth, keeping self unspotted from the world, condemning few, blessing many.

34. (Q) Any warnings about the physical condition, especially regarding the stomach?
    (A) We haven't the physical forces. Tendencies, yes. Be mindful that nominal eliminations are kept, but never purgings.
35. (Q) How can I help my brother, [...], regain his right mind?
    (A) We don't find relationships here.
36. (Q) What is the main fault of character that I should overcome?
    (A) Read that indicated. Analyze self and you will see wherein ye have fallen short, wherein ye have great opportunities.
37. (Q) What have been my past relationships and how can I best help in the present my daughter, [...].
    (A) In the experiences in the French land ye were very good friends, though ye loved the same man; and ye dispute about such things in the present. Find and lay greater stress on the things wherein ye agree and don't make such a tempest over the things in which ye disagree, and ye will stay closer together. Magnify virtues, minimize faults in one another.
38. (Q) Would it be well to consider marrying again?
    (A) And you will before the year is out!
