This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 18th day of March, 1944, in accordance with request made by the daughter - Mrs. [...], new Associate Member of the Ass'n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by article in Coronet.

TEXT

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes. As we find there is rather the complication of disturbances here. A great deal of the disturbance arises from the poor activity of the kidneys or the incoordination between the activity of the liver and kidneys; thus forming deposits in the muscular forces of the body that cause rheumatic reactions.
3. The conditions in throat, neck and head, the puffiness at times with the eyes, the heaviness across the small of the back and the contraction of the muscular forces all are the result of these toxic conditions and the specific disturbances with the functioning of the organs here. There are tendencies for pus in the kidneys at times.
4. We find that it would be well to apply first the Glyco-Thymoline Packs with heat across the kidney area, an hour each day for at least five days in succession.
5. Then begin taking internally each morning a heaping teaspoonful of Eno Salts. Take this for five mornings, then leave off.
6. The next morning put together half a teaspoonful of Syrup of Sarsaparilla and five drops of Syrup of Rhubarb. This may be taken from the spoon or it may be taken in a little water.
7. Then rest a day, and repeat.
8. THEN have osteopathic adjustments such as may be given by Dr. Smith. Also have a colonic irrigation.
9. Have the osteopathic adjustments at least twice a week until eight or ten are taken; then once a week, as conditions gradually clear.
10. Keep these up, repeating the packs and the properties suggested as conditions slacken.
11. The Packs across the kidney area should be repeated and then the series of the Eno Salts, then the combination of Syrups indicated, followed by the series of osteopathic adjustments.
12. Do these and we will bring better conditions for this body.
13. Do keep away from fats and oils in the foods. No fried foods at any time. Have a great deal of raw vegetables. Do remove most of the salt from foods or change from the ordinary salt to kelp salt or deep sea salt, or health salt. Only use such on foods for this body.
14. Ready for questions.
15. (Q) Shall I be able to walk again?
    (A) The body should be able to walk again.

BACKGROUND

1. 9/25/43 Daughter's letter to EC: "After having read the article "The Miracle Man of Virginia Beach" in the Sept. issue of Coronet, I thought perhaps you could help us with our problem.
   "For months my mother has been disabled with what the doctor diagnoses as rheumatism. He has prescribed medicines one after another, Epsom Salts bathings, etc. but instead of improving her condition gets more critical as time goes by; as a matter of fact, to the point where she is unable to get about at all and even just sitting is indeed far too painful.
   "We all love her so dearly and feel it so deeply that she should suffer so much all the time, that if your wisdom could help her it would be such a blessing for her to be at ease again.
   "We would appreciate one of your rdgs. so and no fee would be too great to bring my mother the comfort of being well again."
