8/18/29 Mr. [
202]'s letter:
Mr. Edgar Cayce
35th St.
Virginia Beach, Va.
My dear friend:
Enclosed find check for $20.00 in payment of membership
dues and a physical reading for Mr. [...], ... Building,
Washington, D.C.
Please book his wife, Mrs. [
3759], Waverly Sanitarium, near
Rockville, Md., for a physical reading as soon as possible.
Send the announcement of the date for physical reading to
Mr. [[...] [her husband]]'s care of his Washington address.
His wife is in such a state that he does not wish the
announcement to come to her, as he wishes to manipulate this
matter himself. Try and make the reading in the morning, as
this party usually goes out in the afternoon.
Mr. [...] will most likely be to see you this Labor Day. If
possible, keep that date open to give him a personal reading.
In case this is not a possibility, please notify him to be
present at one of the readings while he is at Virginia Beach.
If we can interest Mr. [...] in this work, we will enlist the
services not only of a very brilliant man, but one who can do
us a lot of good.
I expect to remain here until the first of September and then
drive home by way of New York.
With kindest regards to you and all the rest of my friends at
Virginia Beach, I remain,
Very truly yours, [
202]
The enclosed check is for a physical for Mrs. [
3759] - if
he gets a reading while in Virginia Beach he will pay while
there.
10/02/29 Husband's wire verifying sanitarium address for
appointment: "Under doctor's order, because of nervous
condition, I hold no communication with her."
REPORTS
11/18/29 Husband's letter:
Cayce Hospital,
Virginia Beach, Va.
Dear Mr. Casey:
Replying to yours of the 16th, please be advised that there
is no appreciable result in the case of my wife. None of
the suggestions made have been conveyed to her because as
explained in my telegram of the second of Oct. her nervous
condition is such as to make it impossible.
Regretting that I have no better news to give you, believe
me,
Yours very truly, [...]
