5/06/31 Dr. O. H. Snyder's, M.D., letter to EC:

Mr. Edgar Cayce
Virginia Beach, Va.
My Dear Mr. Cayce:-
I was sorry that I had to return home before you returned
from New York but it became necessary for me to come here to
work on my lease proposition from this end as it looked to
me as if the men in Washington and New York were simply
"stalling" around for time to see if they could get me
discouraged and sell to them at their own price. I have had
two communications from them since coming home proving that
I was right. I have the matter up with two different
companies in this section and it will only be a question of
time until I dispose of them.
As you know from Gray and Hugh Lynn the result of our last
digging I would like your opinion of it and if you will be
so kind I would like to see a copy of the reading you have
given concerning it if you have given it. My faith is not
lost in regard to the work simply because we did not find
this treasure for we know that GOD works in many mysterious
ways and it is my firm belief that it is always for the best.
If some of us are not fit to go ahead and try and carry out
the work that we have outlined and I am that one, then I will
only be to glad to step side and have some one that is fit
to take my place.
I know that you and your family are sincere and you have a
gift that I envy you of and wish that I possessed if for
only to use in the practice of medicine for I can see how
much good I could do with it.
Trusting that your trip to New York was successful, I beg
to remain,
Very Truly Yours, [signed] O. H. Snyder, M.D.
5/08/31 HLC's letter to A. C. Preston:
Mr. A. C. Preston
New Amsterdam Hotel
Washington, D.C.
Dear Mr. Preston:
In order that you may keep in mind the general developments
and the steps towards a new organization which have been
taken I thought I might write you and outline things in a
brief manner.
For the past week Dad has been in New York meeting with
various groups and individuals who are interested in seeing
this work carried on. All preliminary steps have now been
taken and a meeting has been called for June 6, at three
o'clock at our home to formally organize the new association.
At this meeting a business manager will be definitely
selected and a corporate board of advisers or trustees
selected of some twenty-five or thirty individuals from
various parts of the country. We would like for you to
become a member of this board if you so desire. But we will
of course have time to talk this all over and figure out just
how it will fit in with our plans as they develop.
Now in considering just how our plans will be worked out in
relation to these developments I am anxious to go over
carefully with you. I am farther to day from giving up our
plans than ever before and I believe that we can undoubtedly
have things in shape for this meeting on the 6th. As I told
you over the phone and then wrote you it is simply a matter
of finances at the present and too I really feel that if we
can get together and become actually of one mind and let that
one mind be in accord with the ideals we are trying to carry
out we will save ourselves a lot of time. With these other
conditions arising it will be necessary for us to work out a
definite relationship. Too I expect we have a good deal to
do in getting ourselves in line with the forces. Just what
is Dr. Synder's attitude now, that is another detail that
will require clearing up.
To turn to practical plans for a moment my idea would be
this. We have got to get together and get ourselves
straightened out with the forces as directed. We have then
got to get our plans all lined up and the relationship with
other individuals cleared up. On doing this we will have the
aid of the readings. As soon as this is accomplished if we
have the finances we will move our scene of operations back
to the site and work out the information in detail until it
says it has vanished or we get it. If for any unforeseen
reason we are unable to get hold of the necessary finances
just at this time we can make our plans to save up a little
bit and go and camp on the spot during the first week in
June. I will personally have enough to make that possible
after that time. We should have things complete then for the
meeting in any case. So as soon as you can get down we will
begin to get things under way.
Let me hear from you as soon as to how things go and remember
that we haven't finished yet by a long shot.
Sincerely, Hugh Lynn Cayce
