3/12/29 EC's letter to [
345]: Glad to have yours of a
few days ago, and to know that your mother is feeling some
better. I do wish she would come down and spend a week,
anyway, at the hospital - but I realize that conditions
are very much as you say, she feels that it is absolutely
necessary that she be at home, especially to look after
things there for your sister. I would like for you to
impress on her, though, that it is our desire to be of help
and if she finds that she doesn't feel just like she ought,
why she should come down. We have several people taking
treatment at the present time. Most of these are either
Virginia Beach or Norfolk people. We are, little by little,
getting things ironed out so that, no doubt, we will have
those in the building to look after and take care of in the
near future. Lot of things to be attended to, and rough
edges to be smoothed off.
I'm sure you have a much more wonderful opportunity there
in Washington, and I'm sure you are one of those that will
take advantage of it. No, I don't get the American Magazine
and didn't see the article you mentioned. We will get that
magazine at the hospital after this month, and no doubt I
will see and read more. I have so little time to give to
reading now that it is mighty hard for me to keep up with
things that I would like to.
I'm sure it was astonishing to you to see such a quotation
staring you in the face, when there are so many ideas of
what that 'One God, One Law, and One far off Divine Event
to which all Humanity moves' means; yet it is the very thing
we are attempting to show people through the offices of the
Association.
Be sure, the first time you come down, that you come out and
see us, if it is only for a minute. I want you to see the
building now since it is completed. With kindest personal
regards.
