12/14/26 EC's letter to Mrs. [
3841]'s wife: "...We enclose
you, herewith, the copy of the Reading as was gotten, and as
you will notice there are two modes of treatment for this
condition: the operative or the osteopathic. I believe I
would suggest that you have Mr. [
3841] take this Reading to
Dr. Oldham there in Hopkinsville. Let him make an
examination and see if he doesn't find these conditions. If
so, I am sure he will be able to relieve them by following
the suggestions as are given here.
"We assure you of our interest, and we certainly hope you
will let us hear from you from time to time.
"As for the remuneration, our work depends upon the
contributions, Mrs. [...], from those we try to serve, and I
have no other means of a livelihood. So we ask that each
contribute to the best of their means and abilities..."
2/23/27 Mr. [
3841]'s wife's letter to EC: "...Kind sir, I
feel like I have done wrong by not answering sooner, but kept
thinking would have some money but have not had any to try
your treatment, yet we would not take one without the other.
When we try it I will write and let you know. I am sorry
that I have not got any money to send for the Hospital, for I
think they're such good things to have.
"I will not promise anything as I do not have it, do not like
to disappoint anyone..."
