Dear Mrs. [
3879]:
You will be interested to know that since writing you, I have
received contributions ranging from ten to one thousand
dollars, from various individuals who have had personal
experience with or knowledge of the work for which we are
raising funds.
Many others who were not able to send in immediate
contributions, have asked that I take their pledge for sums
to be paid within the next few weeks.
But what we are trying to do is something that cannot be
carried through unless we obtain a wider response to our
appeal. We have many contingent pledges amounting to a total
of several thousand dollars annually for support as soon as
the hospital is in existence. But first it must come into
existence. You can see how under such circumstances every
little bit helps, and why contributions large and small are
vitally needed NOW.
Will you not ask yourself, "How much can I give?" and give
accordingly? The sooner you act, the sooner we will be able
to act on this work of mercy for many.
With all good wishes, I am
Cordially yours, Edgar Cayce [by GD] EC:GD

To Edgar Cayce
When you was in Birmingham I paid you $25- and never got any
better at all. I am still in the same fix I was in and I
don't feel like putting out any more money and not get any
better. I sure don't see how you can ask my support after
you taking $25 for my treatment and you never helped me at
all. I sure don't get my money that easy.

Dear Mrs. [
3879]:
Possibly, it is the exception that proves the rule - so I was
very much surprised upon receiving yours of the 5th, to know
that you did not receive any results by following out the
suggestions as were given you in the reading made for you
some years ago. Now, I do not want something for nothing.
However, I don't think anyone can ever say I have ever
promised anyone that they would even receive benefits through
these suggestions. I know I have never made such promises,
but I do know that there are thousands of people that HAVE
received benefits! Not because of any promise, but because
they applied the information received in their lives. I
would like for you to please take the time and the trouble to
tell me about your condition, and about how well and how
thoroughly you did follow out the suggestions made - for,
from the results others have gotten, there certainly must
have been something wrong concerning yours. Let's find it -
will you? Write me. Thank you.
Sincerely, Edgar Cayce EC:GD
