This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 2nd day of March, 1930, in accordance with request made by his parents, Mr. [317] and Mrs. [267].

TEXT

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [3886]. Now, we find there are disorders of specific natures as to cause the disturbance with the physical forces of the body. These have to do with the assimilations in the system. Hence that tenseness as is seen in the system through the BUILDING or REPLENISHING forces, and tendency towards anemic forces in the general system.
2. These, then, are the conditions as we find with this body, [3886] we are speaking of:
3. IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, this somewhat below normal in the rebuilding, and kept so by those conditions of a specific nature as exist in the region of the lacteal ducts. There the inflammation is produced. From that source comes that distress as is seen in liver, and the temperature as is produced in the upper portion of system, and the sudden changes as come, and the nausea as comes. These produced from that inflammation as has existed from congestion, or from cold, that has produced in the intestinal tract that inflammation of the mucus membranes OF the digestive system, centering most about this portion. Then the indigestion, the activities in the colon, THROUGH the activity of the emunctory and lymphatic circulation, becoming involved. This raising the exterior circulation, produced BY the HIGH HEPATIC circulation.
4. IN THE NERVE FORCES, these very good, save when such inflammation produces that condition in the centers of the sympathetic, as to cause that irrational forces as come from nerve forces - that is, in the nerves themselves - not the mental forces of the body.
5. IN THE FUNCTIONING ORGANS, these, as seen, function UNDER the stress of those conditions as produced there. There will also be found that a lesion - of a minor nature, APPARENTLY - exists in the 8th and 9th dorsal. This produced as much by the system attempting to adjust itself, through the supplying of energy to the system from this portion, as from the FIRST cause - where there was the wrench, or the depression there.
6. In meeting, then, the needs of these - for unless THESE are corrected, we may find DISORDERS may occur, especially through any of the system where the ducts, or the non-activity - as in the portion of kidney, or in the portion of the system about the appendix region, or in the cavity itself in lower portion of the intestine, and also that in throat, bronchia, and upward. These are inflammation centers from which the conditions may spread, unless eliminated from the system. The body is very good at times; at others the temperature arising, and the distress in the assimilation produces this distraughtness throughout.
7. In meeting the needs, then, at the present - first consideration should be given to that as regarding that which may be assimilated by the system, and STILL not produce irritation to any of the mucus membranes, either in the stomach or in the duodenum, or in any portion of the intestinal tract. These, we would find, will not be used - not too much of MILK, unless it was goat's or mare's milk. THESE would be VERY good, goat's milk especially.
8. In the APPLICATIONS for the conditions themselves, we should keep the body quiet. Keep an ANTISEPTIC in the system that is alkalin in its reaction. We would CORRECT those conditions in the dorsal region, and we would KEEP those of the system as COORDINATING through the activity of the nerve energy, and through that portion of the system where there the activities come with those of the locomotaries, especially. We may use small quantities of spirits frumenti, IF the alcohol is BURNED from same. This will EASE, and even reduce temperature in the body. Massage each day, along the whole of the cerebro-spinal system, with those of olive oil, myrrh, and sassafras oil - equal parts. Following same, when temperature arises, with those of the alcohol, as will REDUCE the temperature. This applied externally. Those of the antiseptic internally, we would use those of the Glyco. We would also use those of an oil enema to reduce temperature in intestinal system, and to assist in carrying the refuse from the system without producing too much irritation. Do that.
9. The food values, as we should see, should be those of citrus fruit juices, of vegetable juices, and occasionally - taken more as medicine than as food - those of beef juice. We will build the system back to a normal condition. This should not require more than ten days to two weeks, to be near normal. Ready for questions.
10. (Q) How often should adjustments be made?
    (A) Every day.
11. (Q) Can the body be taken to the hospital for treatments?
    (A) Should be.
12. (Q) Should he stay at the hospital all the time?
    (A) Be well for at least a week.
    Do this, and we will find we will bring the normal conditions for this body.
    In making the adjustments as will be necessary and in reducing the temperature as will be necessary with the manipulation and massage - these should not be done too severe, but just quiet - and to stimulate the system, and so as to relieve these distresses as come from the inflammation in the region here, or in the ducts - as has been given. We are through for the present.
