TEXT

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: In the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church - there are several here - call your name!
3. Yes, we have the body here, [4017].
4. As we find, there have been quite serious disturbances in the body. While these are some better in the present, the sources or causes have not been removed.
5. We find that there has been an injury by a lick in the lower right side near the lacteal duct - or the larger portion of the lacteal duct, just below the liver and where there is the gall duct activity upon foods as they are to be assimilated and to pass into the jejunum.
6. These have caused adhesion through the area. Thus there are crampings at times through these portions or across the abdominal area. These, at times, extend all the way across, just below the diaphragm.
7. Hence the nerve collapses that have been caused at times, with all sorts of reactions through the poor eliminations, the poor activity by those reflexes of contraction to the liver, the spleen, the pancreas and the activities of foods upon the body.
8. First we find that there should be several series of Castor Oil Packs, three to four thicknesses of old flannel saturated with hot Castor Oil, applied just as hot as the body can stand for one hour each day for three days in succession. Apply these directly to the body, cover so as to prevent soiling linen, then apply the electric pad. These would extend over the gall duct and liver area to the caecum, along the right side, or the whole right half of the abdominal area, from the rib to the groins.
9. After the third day of applying these Packs, take internally a tablespoonful of Olive Oil.
10. Then the next week have the Packs again, the same three days.
11. During the second series, each day when the Packs are removed, sponge off the area with a mild soda water (a level teaspoonful of baking soda to a quart of tepid water), then massage over the body all it will absorb, of Peanut Oil. The first two or three days the body will absorb a great deal, afterward not so much. This may produce a rash, but bathing off with the soda water will clear same away.
12. Take at least four of these three-day series of the Castor Oil Packs, each time followed by the Olive Oil, gradually increasing the amount until half a teacupful is taken following the last series.
13. Then have (not before) the osteopathic adjustments along the whole cerebrospinal system, breaking up the lesions through these areas. There should be given at least sixteen such treatments, correcting each segment along the spine, especially through the area from the 6th dorsal to the lower lumbar and throughout the sacral; to be sure, coordinating the upper dorsals and cervicals with the corrections made at each treatment, breaking up gently, not too severely, the lesions in the areas indicated and also throughout the caecum area.
14. During the greater portion of these treatments the diet should consist of liquids and semi-liquids, principally. Do use a great deal of the body building foods such as vegetable juices; as carrots, lettuce, celery, onions, radishes. These may be prepared not only in a juicer, but oft prepared in a salad, very finely ground and using the juices with same prepared in gelatin, so that there will be these activities through the body.
15. Do keep away from sedatives as much as possible.
16. These should bring better conditions for this body.
17. Ready for questions.
18. (Q) What would be the cause and cure for almost constant colds, sore throat, earache and bronchial trouble?
    (A) Do these things that we have given. These arise from the acidity that comes from lack of proper assimilations through the body, owing to the congestions and the acidity caused in the body.
19. (Q) Is there any source of infection in the eyes?
    (A) Some along the lachrymal ducts. Use scraped Irish potato poultices over the eyes of evening, cleansing of morning, or the same evening when removed, with a weak solution of any good eye cleanser.
20. (Q) Would special shoes be necessary or are the chiropodist treatments now being given satisfactory?
    (A) These treatments being given are doing very little for corrections. When the osteopathic corrections are made through the areas indicated, have the osteopath give the foot treatments.
Use the shoes where special braces are prepared in the instep - the Locke shoes.
21. (Q) Would a change of climate be advisable in this regard?
    (A) If you want to change it'll help, but it is not necessary for the corrections.
22. (Q) What type of work should I do?
    (A) What type do you want to do? Not very much of anything, but it will depend upon how much improvement there is. Those things having to do with office activity would be better for the body.
23. We are through with this reading.

BACKGROUND

1. 9/05/43 Letter: "I suffered a physical & nervous breakdown a little more than 3 yrs. ago from which I have not as yet been able to recover so as to do my work efficiently. I have been to many doctors, osteopaths, chiropractors, etc., & have spent nearly a yr. in a sanitarium but am really not much better. I do not know if my illness is my own fault & hesitate to write for I do know there are many poor souls worse off than I and far more deserving of help."
2. 3/11/44 Letter: "I realize much of it may be emotional & mental, but I feel if I could clear up some of the physical disabilities my emotional condition may improve - Perhaps my last ques. is not pertinent or is asking too much, but I would like to be able to aid others who are in a like condition. I do pray for them now."
   Questions submitted:
Is there present any source of infection, any glandular trouble or any allergy? What might be done to improve the circulation? What would be the cause and cure for almost constant colds, sore throat, earache and bronchial trouble? Would a change of climate be advisable in this regard? What might be done for pains in feet, legs, shoulders, spine? Would special shoes be necessary or are the chiropodist treatments now being given satisfactory? What causes very bad headaches? Anything necessary as to diet? What especially should be avoided? What general treatment or medication would be advisable? Is there any source of infection in the eyes? What type of work should I do? Would any of the treatment advised be helpful to those of my friends who are nervous?
