C. Clark]
1. Do you still have a copy of your Life Reading? Yes.
2. How many times have you read your Life Reading? (If many
times, give approximate number.) A great many. I could not
give a number.
3. Did you read it to or with someone else and, if so, what
was the relation of the person to you? Read it to my husband
Myron, also my two daughters have read it. Have also read it
with Hugh Lynn Cayce.
4. Have you given a copy of your reading to anyone and, if
so, what was the relationship to you of that person? No.
5. How recently have you read your Life Reading? In the last
5 months.
6. In what respects do you feel that your Life Reading was
(1) true, (2) false, (3) correct, (4) imaginary, (5) hocus
pocus, (6) inaccurate, (7) incomplete, (8) trivial?
True. - I do enjoy entertaining, our home if always open, to
our girls their friends, as well as ours. Yes, we do enjoy
doing for others, consider it a great privilege if we can
help in any way. I certainly do not have any time for a
smutty or pointed story. Have always had a innate desire to
be a reporter, - or writer. In High School, won a prize for
a short story offered by Colonial Dames of West Virginia, for
best story of Colonial days before 1776. As child was always
writing and putting on dramatics with playmates. I do like
things orderly, - don't always accomplish aim along that
line. In first World War, took Red Cross Nurses Aid Course,
and had been called for active duty, to report at camp
Oglethorpe, when war ended, and others cancelled. I have
been a teacher in this entity, - (in the public schools)
also a Sunday School Teacher, Primary Department. The above
are in accord with my Life Reading.
7. Do you believe in a reincarnation of the soul and, if so,
why? Yes. Because it is the most logical and satisfying
answer to every problem; and points a true course for
spiritual development.
8. What is your idea or concept of Karma? Is it (a) a state
to which a people aspire, (b) a state to which an individual
aspires, (c) an environmental influence, (d) a hereditary
influence, (e) something you yourself have done or thought or
left undone and unthought in a previous incarnation?
Karma to me, means the carrying over of influences from past
incarnations, either good or bad, - this incarnation is a
chance to work out those influences and raise the soul
development for yourself and others.
9. Have you in any respect consciously changed your (1)
vocation, (2) thoughts, (3) actions or reactions toward
others as a result of your Life Reading?
10. Assuming your life to be no casual accident or
experiment, do you have any new or different concept as to
the purpose of your life as a result of your Life Reading?
Answer to 9 & 10. My Life Reading, and before that reading
"There is a River", opened up and made clear reincarnation,
and from there the way to lead to a broader richer awareness
of Christ and His Plan for mankind, which become more
wonderful each day, as we let Him use as channels thru which
or whom he works wonders marvelous to behold. Thru my Life
Reading I met others of "like mind" and we formed Study
Group, and used book. A Search for God, - also an Edgar
Cayce product, our group had grown spiritually beyond our
fondest hopes, and many are carrying this spiritual gain to
others. We are now reading Book 11. A Search for God, it is
filling our needs, and we are very grateful for such a guide.
11. Have you ever systematically or otherwise set apart any
part of your day, week, month or any other period of your
time for introspection or an examination and analysis of
your inner self (and we do not mean writing in a diary) as
suggested in your Life Reading? If not, why not and, if so,
are there any results measurable to you?
Yes, I set apart the early morning hours, five to seven, for
prayer and meditation, and reading the Bible and other
spiritual literature. Needless to say those hours "set" the
pattern of the day. I did not do this immediately after
having the Life Reading, - but it led to this seeking for
spiritual development, and for two years, these hours have
brought me much happiness.
12. Do you regard your vocation, whether it be as laborer,
supervisor, manager, official, engineer, lawyer, doctor,
housewife, mothers, or what not, as the dominant force in
your life or do you look upon your vocation as an agency
through which you can the better fulfil your purpose in this
life?
In my business and also as a Wife and Mother, these can and
are the agency thru which I can better fulfil my purpose in
life.
13. How, in your opinion, can our Association best carry on
the work of Edgar Cayce and the good for which he stood?
In making the report on your life reading my we suggest that
comments be made on each paragraph. This offers an
opportunity to bring out the finer points of the reading. If
you can list any other items pertaining to your development
which would tie in with the information in the reading, it
would be most helpful to have them.
I think you are doing a grand job now.
I consider it a great privilege to have had a Life Reading, -
it has changed my entire outlook on life, giving it an
objective and rhythm I could not imagine possible.
After the Life Reading I became active in the Red Cross as
Grey Lady, which I enjoyed very much.
7/11/62 GD's note: Mrs. [
4041] has continued to be actively
interested in the A.R.E. work. She never met EC personally
but since his death has visited A.R.E. several times and I
feel that she is truly worthy of the good things her reading
had to say about her.
10/02/72 Mrs. [
4041] wrote from Klinik Bircher-Benner, 8044
Zurick, Switzerland, Keltenstrasse 48: "I am here for 4
weeks for arthritis. My sister is with me for the same
reason. It is a wonderful place, run on natural food diets,
medicines, herb baths, treatments, etc.
"The reason I am writing you is Edgar Cayce! When I go any
place I always ask God to use me, and you know as well as I
how thrilling to see the doors open. And so, the second day
we were here I was with one of the doctors and in a joking
way mentioned reincarnation, and he said 'Do you believe in
it?' You know what my answer was! He said 'I have read
several books of Edgar Cayce!' Then we were off. Also he
could not find anyone in Zurich to talk with about this
subject. I told him I would write to find out if there are
any A.R.E. Groups here. I am sending you his name and
address to send him a membership form and mailing list. He
would like very much to visit Va. Beach.
"I do hope to get to Va. Beach soon. I was busy this summer
closing the catering business, so I did not go any place.
Pray for my healing. With love and God's blessing,"
Always, [
