This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 26th day of May, 1927, in accordance with request made by her husband, [...].

TEXT

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time, giving the cause of the existing conditions; also the treatment for the cure and relief of this body. You will answer any questions regarding same that I may ask you.
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here.
3. Now we find with the physical forces of this body one that would be of rather the interesting study, for while there are some physical conditions that give the body some uneasiness and distress, the real seat, cause, or the condition in the first cause, would be set from the attitude of the body mentally toward many varying conditions, and with the combativeness as is innate with the body much of the condition is builded in body from that view or standpoint. Not of the mental condition, for the body strong in the mental way and manner, but of the attitude in such conditions.
4. These, then, are the conditions as we find them with this body, [4224] we are speaking of:
5. IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, this shows rather the effect of the nerve tension of the body in its relation to rebuilding, than of any condition that may be called of the destructive nature in the physical sense.
6. The NERVE SYSTEM, then, rather the seat or cause as would be - physically speaking - of the conditions that bring about the distresses for the body at the various cycles of functioning, and then under such strain the various conditions present themselves. Not wholly as one that would be termed a neurotic, yet one with some TENDENCIES, and might be so classified by some of the conditions.
7. IN THE FUNCTIONING OF THE ORGANS IN THE BODY, these are very good, nominally, of themselves, save of those as are affected through the sympathetic reaction.
8. In the general condition, then, to be met - is as that of one wherein the healing forces must come through self, in that the physical is amenable to the strong suggestion of the mental forces of the body, and with the correct application, then, of those elements that go to build the physical body in its present condition, age, development, surroundings, and all those things that - through their assimilation - build the physical forces, with the mental attunement of the body to meet, rather than succumb, or to overcome in self that combative nature, would build the better conditions for the physical body here, [4224].
9. In the application of those elements of the material nature that would prove the greater benefit for the body - for the body with its innate forces finds that these must often be met with that wherein the body may apply that which it (the body) may feel, see, know, or find, the reaction from same - then, in this connection, those of the various forms of the electric forces that create with the atomic forces of the body - in the sense of the nerve reaction - would be well. Such as is found in the Violet Ray, or in the Ultra Violet, or Infra-Red. Any of these, or better for the body the change from the one to the other, would bring the better reaction to the body; in a systematic way and manner - for, to the body, system is as a first law.

11. (Q) What is the condition of the eyes?
    (A) As is given, there are in the sympathetic system those reactions that show in the various conditions in the organs of the sensory system.
    In the eye here we find often the reflection of those congestions that are produced rather from within self, than of the organic disturbance. While the physical reaction brings to the sensory nerves as are seen in the elongation of the optic refractory forces, yet with the controlling of self, and the application of those vibratory forces in the body in the order, or systematically changed as given, this would bring the better eliminations to the body. Hence assisting in building back the correct conditions for same. This not of the nature of the functional - only in the DISTURBANCE of same, see? Violet Ray direct to the optics will assist, using those of the force that places the anode over either eye. Not TOO much, but sufficient to electrify the nerve energy in the eye proper. No cordation, no condition that we would give other than a reaction from proper electrification or rebuilding the vibratory forces in the body to meet the needs of the body; for, as we find, as given in the first, the body rather the exception than the rule. Hence an interesting study from the viewpoint of the psychiatrist; for we find the illustration here in the various vibratory forces as are set within the system: Sight a different vibration to the brain force from hearing, yet in the physical sense both only a refractory action to brain centers. The voice or the feeling a different vibratory force - for, as is seen with THIS particular body, there occurs such a fullness of self even that hindrances were in the speech. Not as of one stuttering; not as one that cannot speak, but the refraction to the system, through that subjugation at times of self, or through those conditions as are of such combative nature - THESE bring or well up such disturbances as are seen, as given, in the higher senses or vibratory forces of the body. Hence electrical forces in their variation, with the mental attitude of self, the corrective forces in the physical sense to this body.
12. (Q) Should the pupils be dilated in the eye?
    (A) Very well that these be dilated occasionally; not too much, for with the refractory forces in the electric forces for body, these would not be well for the PHYSICAL sense, for the building up of refractory rays as should be created in the nerve sense of the eye - these would be of too STRONG a nature were the dilation kept too often, but NECESSARY at intervals. Systematic condition again, see?
13. (Q) How long will it take to remedy this trouble with the eyes?
    (A) From four to eight (4 to 8) weeks, with the proper incentive set in self; that is, the body must first build in self that it will overcome, see? Then, with the application of the physical conditions AS given, and that NOW THIS WILL BUILD WITHIN SELF, it will build - within the period given, and the proper refractory rays, the proper coordination, will be set up.
    DO that.
14. (Q) Does the body lack potassium or iodine?
    (A) Iodine - for in the using up of resistance within self, this the ELEMENTAL forces as OVER used, see?
15. (Q) How is the best way to get the iodine in the body?
    (A) Through the Radio-Active forces of those vibrations as may be set through same.
16. (Q) Is the diet alright?
    (A) The diet very good. Those that are assimilations for the body, and those as is given that WILL assimilate and build physical forces.
    In the Radio-Active forces for the intake of iodine in system, let the large anode be applied to the left side of umbilicus in THIS body.
17. (Q) Is there any organic trouble?
    (A) Only as reflex. No organic trouble, as we find.
18. (Q) How long should the Radio-Active Appliance be given?
    (A) One hour each evening as the body retires, alternating the positive anode from ankle to wrist and to opposite sides of body, but keeping the negative anode to the left side of umbilicus.
19. (Q) How long a period?
    (A) Until the body has sustained sufficient of the properties in its reaction in the body. This may be ascertained through blood test, or through these same forces as give these directions.
20. That is all the questions.
21. Much may be given concerning this body - for, as given, there are many interesting conditions as regarding the physical and the mental conditions of this body.

   Dear [...]
   Miss Davis tells me of a conversation with you this afternoon over the phone, regarding the Radio-Active Appliance. There is no one here in Norfolk or vicinity that has used this appliance. There was one lady for whom we suggested one of these, but a friend of her's persuaded her to try something else. I might give you the names of several people out of town. The SUREST test is the blood test. If you have had a test made before she began the treatment, have one made at present. Or, if you want a real test, take one now, leave it off for four days, then make another one. This, I believe, is the real test that everyone has found to be true where they have used this appliance as suggested.
   I certainly hope this information is what you wish. If it's individual names you wish to have, I'll give them to you as soon as I can - but the real test is that as given.
