4/31 HLC's analysis of the reading:
With the background of the other reading [See
4405-1 for his
sister, A.M. same day] this will undoubtedly be fairly clear.
As you will notice there is a decided emphasis on the
physical body as an expression of the mind and the spiritual
forces. There are some very definite and practical
suggestions which may be discussed under three distinct
heads: diet and treatment, mental condition, life work.
These are then followed with some general remarks.
The reading indicates that there is an over balanced diet
being taken at the present which while it does not cause
trouble at this time will prove harmful in later life. This
is due to the fact that if too much of certain elements are
taken into the body parts that are not used are left over as
drosses or poisons to become the causes of pains and stiff
joints in later life. Treatments given by osteopaths and
chiropractors assist the circulation of the blood and thus
aid in carrying off these poisons. The treatment as
suggested; two or three every other day and then wait for
a month. The diet as suggested is very plain. If followed
carefully for a time it will become a habit which will be a
very good one to acquire.
The mental condition is very good. The slight tendency to
take self too seriously is a characteristic of the age, I
believe. Here again the establishment of an ideal will aid
considerably. If we all could just come to the understanding
that the material things in life are not the most important
how much better off we would be. If the mental and spiritual
side of a persons life are carefully considered the material
side will not become the overbalancing factor. Some are
prone to run to this or that extreme, the world is full of
boring bookworms and over-religious fanatics as well as
material mad-money grabbers. Just at present it seems that
we are troubled with the latter. It is the material side of
this life in question which must be guided and not allowed to
become the controlling influence.
The life's work is pointed out in a very definite way. A
work that involves assisting the human race through
alleviating pain. This certainly indicates the medical or
some phase of it. This choice should be made by the
individual yet guided, not driven by the suggestions of those
interested. Dentistry as shown by the question would be very
good. Various fields of this type of endeavor should be
presented to the entity and the choice made within self.
Reading and conversation on subjects pertaining to these
fields will be especially helpful in making a choice.
The advice given in the last paragraph before the questions
is very good and should be analyzed word by word not read
hurriedly and thrown aside to be forgotten. A very pointed
reason for not allowing the physical side of life to dominate
is given. To every man come the time when troubles and
trials make life an unhappy sort of game. At such times man
must fall back for strength upon the spiritual nature and if
this is so covered and concealed the trials will be hard to
bear and misery will result. It is true that we are in a
material world and must make the most of it but if we must
depend upon material things alone for happiness we will
sooner or late come to the point where it is all useless and
not worthwhile.
This individual should avoid being influenced by others in
a way that will discourage or dishearten him. The troubles
in others lives should be studied as things to avoid in one's
own life. The failure of another individual to rise to meet
the hopes or expectations in friendship or love affairs
should not be allowed to upset this individual. Remember
that more is required of some than of others and that all are
not developed to the same level. Each must go through the
mill, as it were and we can be pretty sure that each of us
is going to have to feel every pain and know every trial
before it is all over. If this were not so the cards would
be stacked and life would be a onesided game.
The shop worn phrase "service" again comes into play here.
But I believe that the modern age offers a good example of
the activity of this principle. Is it not true that the
large companies of the country are heading their ads with
SERVICE - we wish to serve. Look up the Standard Oil Ads for
example. This is an old law being applied in this material
age. It is applicable in the lives of individuals in a very
definite manner. If an individual will seek first to become
in word and action a representative of the God which he
worships (one is this anyway) and will allow the development
of the spiritual forces latent within all those things
necessary for the development in this life will be added in
their proper order. We cannot evade life and there is so
much happiness in trying to live it in accord with the
universal laws that bound the path which we will all travel
sooner or later.
Note: We are just beginning to develop a system that will
assist individuals in interpreting their readings. Please
be kind enough to offer any suggestions that you may have
that will assist us in perfecting this system. Any questions
that come to you regarding any part of the readings herein
discussed I will be glad to try and answer. I hope you will
find this helpful. [HLC]
