IN THE NERVOUS SYSTEM, these are rather a complication of
conditions as are affecting the nervous system, or as are
affecting the system through the conditions existent in the
cerebro-spinal and sympathetic. Hence we see causes from two
different sources in this respect, at least. In the lumbar
and sacral region the nervous system shows the greater
distress from those conditions, in which impingements prevent
the normal impulses to the system. Also in the nerve forces
as in the ORGANS showing distress, the glands above or about
the kidneys - as well as the glands of genitation. These
are showing the effects of the mental worries of the body,
as well as an unbalancing of the elements necessary for
proper reactions of the glands THROUGHOUT the body in their
functioning; these affecting the endreanal [adrenal], as well
as the thyroids, as WELL as those of the emunctories through
the torso or digestive system. Hence we have dull, heavy
pains at times, and catching pains at others, across
the small of the back and just below the diaphragm area;
shortness of breath at times with little exercise; heaviness
in the feet, tendency for dull headaches throughout the day -
which may be at times relieved of mornings, and at others be
heaviness and gradually work off as the exercises of the body
and the activities enable the body to use more of the reserve
energy. At other times the body finds that when it does
relax, if there are not acute pains, it is ready to drop off
- as it were - with FLITFUL sleeps; insomnia at times, waking
during the nights, with tendency of clamminess - at others
hot and cold flushes. These are but INDICATIONS of the
disorders, as has been indicated.
In meeting the needs of the conditions in the present, we
would find that we would - at least once each day - take an
adjustment in the cerebro-spinal system itself. Now these
would be varied at times, and should N OT be attempted to ALL
be MADE at ONCE! but a PORTION of an adjustment, especially
in the lumbar and lower dorsal area, but this made EVERY DAY
for at least twelve to sixteen adjustments - see?
FOLLOWING these adjustments - and at the SAME period - take
a thorough VIBRATORY treatment with an ELECTRICALLY DRIVER
VIBRATOR! using the suction appliance on the spine itself.
Let this run LOW, especially in the caecum and sacral
regions; that is, across the front portion of body, then low
down to the end of the coccyx, see? and all the way to the
base of the brain. This should be given for three to eight
minutes FOLLOWING the adjustment, and a massage along the
spine - see?
We would begin also immediately taking those properties of
iodine as found in Atomidine, but in SMALL doses, not over
five drops twice each day - morning and evening, see. Take
this for at least ten days, then rest three days, then take
for another period of ten days. See?
Let the diet be along THIS line, though it may be altered to
meet the needs or the circumstances for the body:
Mornings - citrous fruit diet, or orange juice, grapefruit
or lemon taken, and a little later some toast, coffee or a
CEREAL drink.
Noons - fruit juices (mixed fruits), then broths or soups -
either of the meats or WITH vegetables, or vegetables alone,
with a glass of milk or with a cereal drink again.
Evenings - the vegetables and a little meat; no fish or sea
foods as long as the iodine is being taken, and FEW of the
vegetables that grow under ground.
Do this, and we will find that in twenty to thirty days we
should have a near normal body. Ready for questions.
(Q) Does the condition of my teeth have anything to do with
my back trouble?
(A) This is rather the cause of the condition of teeth! but
these SHOULD have their LOCAL attention, and where pus is
indicated remove same, otherwise use those of an Ipsab rub
for the gums at least twice to three times a week, and we
will find these will be removed.
(Q) Should violet ray treatments be continued?
(A) We would discontinue these, if the VIBRATION is given
properly; for with the violet ray we are over stimulating
the little energy left without giving the system the
elements NECESSARY to replenish!
(Q) Would this condition be called sciatic rheumatism?
(A) May be TERMED that, but it would be a very poor
diagnosis for it to be called! More of a gland condition!
(Q) What was the original cause of my condition?
(A) This would date back rather far; it is from an old
illness that occurred, that UNBALANCED the system and
made for toxic forces throughout the body.
Do this, and we will find the conditions improving.
We are through for the present.

BACKGROUND
10/27/31 Mr. Frank E. Mohr wrote that "Mr. [
4538] wants a
reading. Sciatic rheumatism, I think, is his trouble. Drs.
are having him wear a belt of some kind, they think that may
help him. He is not bad off, but hurts most of the time.
His teeth may need treatment."
10/29/31 Mr. [

trouble."
11/12/31 "My teeth are all sound, but a few are a little
loose. Are they causing the trouble with my back? I have
been using electric treatment but it has not given me the
desired relief."

5/05/32 Mr. Frank E. Mohr's letter: "Mr. [

osteopathic treatment he could not stand. I have not seen
him for three months - his son told me this today, that he
could not stand the treatment - too severe."
5/13/32 EC's letter to Mr. Mohr: "Don't you think it would
be well for you to go in person and talk with the osteopath,
or someone you may know to be a real good one?"
6/03/32 Mr. Mohr's letter: "[

but the osteopath did not do as you said, but says he is
much better at that."
