(Q) In view of the limited present capital of the Ohio
Florida Associates, Incorporated, (EC: - interrupting) More
coming in though. (LS continuing) would it be best to create
interest in their plan by direct mail from Miami, Fla., using
the Dayton, Ohio, office to follow up?
(A) This may be accomplished in this manner. There are
other sources, however, that will bring quicker results than
with those of the mail campaign, for we find with the
exchange in securities and of properties, with the
association that is to be made, both in Florida or in the
East - Washington - these will bring those properties, those
monies into the channel wherewith these would bring quicker
results. These extension would be well for further
operations, but well founded from that as received already
and operating upon.
(Q) Would newspaper advertising under the name of the Ohio
Florida Associates, Incorporated, be more effective and
advisable than using what is termed a blind ad or using a
box number?
(A) Using the blind ad. Newspaper advertising too expensive
for the conditions as are existent at the present time for
the Association, Incorporated.
(Q) With reference to negotiations with Col. [
3899], would
it be more advisable to have Mr. Howbur, our Florida
representative, interview Col. [
3899], rather than Mr. [
4566]
in view of the urgent need of Mr. [
4566] in ..., Ohio?
(A) Best that Mr. [
4566] in person, interview [
3899] for the
operations to be successful, for other conditions must enter
in to be negotiated that would be reached through
Col. [
3899]. Do as we have given, for the conditions and the
connections with same would bring about better results than
from someone from in the State and in operation in the game,
as it were, itself at present.
(Q) Could the same satisfactory results be accomplished
through Mr. Howbur?
(A) No.
(Q) What would be the capitalization most advantageous for
the Ohio Florida Associates, Incorporated, to carry out the
intent and purpose of the Ohio Florida Associates,
Incorporated?
(A) This must be carried in accordance with the operations
as are carried on from time to time. Best that this be made
at a figure of sufficient worth to be interesting to those
who would be interested in such associations, but not of such
a figure as would become heavy or burdensome, or beyond the
capacities of the associates to make worth while to those who
bear the brunt of same in the beginning.
(Q) What will be the length of time during which the Ohio
Florida Associates, Incorporated, will be actively engaged
in completing in Florida the plans and purposes for which
the corporation has been organized?
(A) Three years. Though there may be extended through same
other branches of same, or a continuation of the same
association, wherein this may be made very successful, for
we will find these will run for quite a number of years, as
has been given, in various lines and endeavors of development
of State.
(Q) Explain again just how the 4,800 acres of Cayce land is
being handled and whether or not the Ohio Florida Associates,
Incorporated, can handled this successfully.
(A) Is being taken up by other individuals, who will handle
same. The plans and associations as they become the most
beneficial through these would be through the association of
[
3899], as has been outlined in same.
(Q) Outline definitely to sources advisable to make
successful the plans as mentioned in the East.
(A) Those with whom same members of association have been
and are in correspondence, and in association in other
associations with. These may be definitely terminated within
the next six weeks.
(Q) Relative to compensation for the active associates,
what is a fair and equitable proportion?
(A) That should be governed by those themselves and not
through these forces.
