Mr. [

..., Ohio
My dear Mr. [
4657]
Yours of September 26th, also of October 2nd, addressed to
our mutual friend Mr. Kahn, was handed to me by Mr. Kahn,
with your check for membership to the Association.
You no doubt already have the information which was gotten.
I am in hopes that it was transcribed in such a way that you
will be able to comprehend what was intended to be given. I
say this with all due respect to the ability to the young
lady who did take the notes; but the Work is of such a
nature that it really requires an extraordinarily good
stenographer, and one well trained in the line to get the
full meaning. That's why we have always insisted that the
individual be present whenever it is possible. This was very
thoroughly demonstrated on my recent visit to New York.
Several months ago a man [
4473] asked for such information,
and it was transcribed by an expert, but he failed to get
just the meaning. During my recent visit I met him and
another reading was taken. While it said practically the
same thing as the first reading, hearing it he understood it
and felt sure he would get results from the application of
that suggested. I note from your letter to Mr. Kahn that you
have had considerable trouble, or have had considerable
treatment for your trouble and possibly at as good places as
there are in the country. So I'm very anxious - not that we
consider we are the better, but we do believe - from the
experience we have had - if you will follow closely the
suggestions made for improvement you will get results. If
you don't, the readings will certainly tell you WHY you
don't! and I would ask that you give this a fair
opportunity.
I'm sending you under separate cover some data concerning the
work of the Association - a little sketch that will possibly
explain to you why I have felt the readings could be made
valuable; also testimonials from individuals in all walks of
life, covering - as you will see - a number of years. These,
of course, are only a small number of the letters we have
received, and they are given merely that an individual - not
knowing anything about the manner in which the information is
gotten - may see that is has been a CONSISTENT thing, and the
RESULTS have been consistent throughout a period of years.
Consequently, there has arisen in the minds of several of my
friends the feasibility and plausibility of the institution,
where this might be studied more systematically and
scientifically. Mr. Kahn suggested that I ask you if it
wouldn't be possible for you to make a visit to Virginia
Beach, or send someone, to see what might be the needs for
our institution, that you could possibly make us a price on
furnishing or equipping it throughout. I don't know whether
you do such things or not. At least, though, let me hear
from you. If you don't understand just what is given, let me
know and of course you will want to check up on this sometime
in the near future.
With kindest personal regards, and hoping to be of service, I
am
Sincerely, Edgar Cayce

arrangements to do this if it is at all possible.

Some parts of the reading are not clear to me and there are
questions. I will write you them in a couple of days.
