(Q) In Drawings Y and Z is that Rod H connecting leads with
ball race to cam of sufficient length to clear the cam in
every position in a revolution?
(A) Drawing as in Y and Z NEARER correct, though to prevent
any of the possibilities in the position of the relative
radius to the centers from which the operation should be
nearer the length as shown on Z, as to drawing; yet the
position and relative force as in Y nearer correct in
position, but in this length, or the shaft should be not so
long as in X and somewhat longer than Y, see?
These, as has been given, should give - as has been indicated
to the enquiring mind of [
195] that insight as is necessary
to find that in each revolution there is the necessity of the
perfect cooperation of each cam, center, sprangle, and ball
race, or end race. The cooperation is necessary from each
with the relative force as will give the proper incentive, or
- in other words - with each having their proper relations
one to the other, this will MAKE a perfect revolution, see?
We are through for the present.
