This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 12th day of May, 1927, in accordance with request made by her husband, Mr. [...], and by her father-in-law, Mr. [...], via Mrs. [780] and [4678]'s father.

TEXT

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time, giving the cause of the existing conditions, also the treatment for the cure and relief of this body.
2. EC: Yes. Now, we find there are many abnormal conditions with this body, and the various disturbances have become so intermingled, one with another, that the conditions may be well called complications. While there is little vitality, yet the will, and the determination, may - even though this is weakened at times - were proper conditions accorded - bring about that resistance necessary as to over come these conditions, and gradually; for this improvement - to be lasting - must necessarily be slow, but there may be builded that which will bring near the normal conditions for the body.
3. These, then, as we find them, are the conditions existent at the present time:

IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, in this we find there is shown the disturbance as is seen in the eliminations, as well as a disturbance in circulation that gives distress to the heart and the pulmonary system, though not an organic condition in heart or lungs, and the condition in the blood stream has not, as yet, become in the nature of pernicious in character - though the elements and the rebuilding and the cellular forces are all low in their resistance, or in their ability to supply the necessary elements for renewal throughout the system. Hence oftentimes the body wastes away, as it were, for it devours its own self, as it were, in keeping the body in a physical functioning condition.
5. NERVE SYSTEM lax throughout, and shows the inability of the body to meet the needs of proper contraction, or of proper incentives throughout the system; for without the proper vibratory forces as may be set by the unison of the contraction or relaxing in the nerve system, there may not be that possible unison of rebuilding lasting in the body.
6. IN THE PHYSICAL FUNCTIONING OF THE ORGANS, brain forces very good.
7. The organs of sensory system acute at times, and at others under stress of the whole weakened condition of body.
8. Throat, bronchials, lungs, and larynx, show the effects of depleted system, and a weak blood supply, and the lack of nerve energy.
9. Digestion also weak, and, as has been seen, often does not produce digestion without the aid of the external properties. Hence assimilation is very low.
10. The organs of digestion show this same physical weakness throughout, by lack of vitality, and of necessary nourishment for normal functioning.
11. The seat or cause of this debilitation, as we find, was produced by conditions existent in the mesenteric system through the effect of operative forces for correction in the system, and there has not set up that perfect coordination necessary in the body since.
12. Now, to meet the needs of these conditions will be, as given, necessarily slow, and of a consistent and persistent manner or nature.
13. First we would use this as the stimulant for the whole body:
14. We would use equal parts of Tincture of Myrrh and Olive Oil as a rub for the cerebro-spinal system. This should be massaged into the spine from base of brain to the end of the spine, at least once each day, preferably after the bath - then rub, and then bathe off the portions thus massaged. Use at least three (3) tablespoonsful of the oil and of Tincture of Myrrh. Heat the oil, then add the myrrh.
15. There should be massaged into the lower portion of the lungs, and over the whole of the abdomen, that of pure olive oil. At least a teaspoonful massaged into these portions of the system, gently, see? and especially in the groin, and along the source or the position of the colon, from the lower, or the lower portion of the jejunum, the ascending, the transverse, and descending, colon. Follow the whole of the colon, especially - gently, and rubbing in so that the system absorbs same. Let this be done every second (2nd) or third (3rd) day, FOLLOWING the massage of those properties in and along the spine - but massage on spine EVERY day.
16. Take as medicinal properties, this:
17. That of Vinol, see? to which there is added (to the dose as is taken, or given as the correct amount) three (3) drops of this solution:

    Tincture of Valerian...............1/2 ounce,
Elixir Calisaya....................1/2 ounce,
Iodide of Potassium 10% solution....20 minims,
Bromide of Potassium 10% solution...30 minims.

    Sufficient of carrier to make four (4) ounces. The carrier being of Peptotol, or of simple syrup, see? and only the few drops, as given, in each dose of Vinol, should be given twice each day.
18. Let the diet be of those properties that will be the more easily assimilated, such as gruels that may be made of rolled wheat or rolled corn. Cereals, with the fruits of the season, see? fresh ripe fruits of the season, in small quantities. Beef juices, but not the meat proper. Fowl or game of any nature - only such meats may be taken, in small quantities; and apply across the solar plexus center those vibrations from the Radio-Active Appliance, as is set in the simple vibration, and the anode that is to be attached first is to the ankle one day, the next day to the wrist - changing from left to right, but the negative anode, or larger plate, to the solar plexus center. Allow this to remain at least two (2) hours each day, preferably as the body is ready to rest - or this may be given HALF an hour FOUR times each day, for this will bring rest and ease and the correct vibrations for the body.
19. Do that, and when these have been carried out for thirty (30) days, we would give further instructions for this body.
20. We are through for the present.

1. 2/28/27 Husband's letter: "You have been recommended to us by several people from ..., Ala., and if you can enlighten us on a cure for my wife - she has been down sick weeks today - I would certainly appreciate it."
