This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th St., Virginia Beach, Va., this 21st day of April, 1927, in accordance with request made by self and father, Mr. [...].

Present: Edgar Cayce; Mrs. Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. [4712] and father.

TEXT

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time. You will diagnose the case thoroughly, giving the cause of the existing conditions; also the treatment for the cure and relief of this body.
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here.
3. Nov, we find there are very good reactions in the physical functioning of the body. We find there are abnormal conditions for the body in some of the physical coordination in the structural portions of body, and we find that by the correction of these conditions there would be the more perfect coordination in the physical, the mental, and the spiritual well-being of the body.
4. These, then, are the physical, the mental, and the spiritual conditions as we find with this body, [4712] we are speaking of. First, IN THE PHYSICAL FORCES, in the BLOOD SUPPLY:
5. This we find near the normal in quantity, and quality the variation as occurs from time to time, and the variation is produced by conditions that exist in the physical structure that cause the improper distribution of forces as are to be eliminated from the body, produced by the functioning of various portions of the anatomical forces of the body.
6. In the blood count at the present near normal, though lacking in the ability at the present time to meet all the needs of the perfect assimilation.
7. IN THE NERVE SYSTEM, AND IN THE NERVE SYSTEMS, rather, would we find the varied condition in the body that causes improper reactions in body at periods. These are of various natures. Those that exist from the lack of the normal structural portion in cerebro-spinal and the coordinating centers that are independent in operation, save in the reflex, which, as has been given, is good. In the reaction then within themselves are the abnormal forces shown.
8. In the cerebro-spinal, first: This we find very good, save as the lesion as has been produced by injury at the 3rd and 2nd cervical center. In the reaction as is produced from same, the preventing of sympathetic action with the mental distribution of those conditions produced in the imagination or vision of the mental plane becomes abnormal, when the reaction in the pineal gland gives the abnormal flow, and this produced by this structural condition existent in the upper cervical and in the lower end of the cerebro-spinal system - for, as we find, this gland runs from the medulla oblongata to the lower end of the spine, in the coccyx.
9. In the first portion of this physical experience there was an injury in the lower portion of the spine, and this - in its gradual thickening - causes spasmodic reaction throughout those centers not in cycle vibration at such reaction.
10. Then, the injuries as have been received externally are not the cause of the condition. Only the added condition that has in part been beneficial, in part been hurtful, to the better physical forces of the body.
11. In the reaction between the sympathetic, cerebro-spinal, pineal, and sensory system, we find these conditions are produced. Not that the body is not above the normal in mental reaction, but that under such strain, or pressure as is produced at periods, this is the condition that the body is unable, in the reaction, to produce a direct coordinating of mental reaction to the body, see? This in turn, as is seen from the blood supply, exhumes then into the body those poisons that are to be eliminated - but to add poisons to the system, as has been done in part and in times back, to produce a counteracting condition, only adds to the structural deterioration, rather than assisting, for time being in body.
12. In the reaction, then, we find that all of the gland system - as is seen from the salivary glands, from the 3rd and 4th ventricle action through the upper glands of head and throat to the heart's action, hypogastric plexus to the lumbar plexus - all of these become involved, or swelled to the expansion, or to the intent and purpose to create within system that necessary to meet the needs of the extravagant condition as is produced in body through the reaction of these conditions. See?
13. This, then, is that distortion as comes about in the physical forces of body.
14. IN THE FUNCTIONING OF THE ORGANS OF THE BODY, brain forces VERY good. Only those pressures as are created in the 2nd and 3rd cervical, and in the last two (2) vertebras, or cartilaginous vertebras, in the coccyx. These show pressure, wherein the other portions of system are thrown out of reaction in brain reaction, though the brain forces extraordinary, as is seen in their reaction in each force in each in the body, though voluntary forces are at times above the ordinary force of action.
15. Throat, lungs, bronchials, very good.
16. Stomach very good, save at times when the hypogastric and pneumogastric show a contraction, when these reactions take place in the system, as does the fullness show in the throat, in the thyroid gland.
17. In the liver, spleen, and the pancreas, these are very good and near normal, save when there is too much reaction in the body of poisons to be eliminated.
18. In the hepatic circulation, kidneys, and the organs of the pelvis, these show their same strain as is produced on the body from all glands becoming distorted at the reaction of the pituitary, or we have a re-capitulation in the functioning of the glands at such vibration - that is, each and every gland, instead of functioning normally, re-inhibits itself and reacts upon itself, producing too much reaction in the body.
19. These all may be overcome by the correct adjustment of the cerebro-spinal nerve center, or vertebra, and by the proper application of those vibrations in the system that will produce a clarification in the blood stream, through the normal vibration set up in each functioning organ and by that action to the nerve resources of the body, as to receive the proper incentive from each nerve plexus, brain forces included, see?
20. Then, we would, each week, for at least thirty-two (32) weeks, have the full adjustment, osteopathically, of those conditions along the whole cerebro-spinal nerve system, or the vertebra in each of the centers be aligned to their normal position. These will not respond at first without a counter reaction, yet these are necessary, would we bring the normal forces to this body.
21. Wearing at all times the Double X Pad of the Radium Active Appliance - Radium Active Appliance - Double X Pad - across the solar plexus center, for this is the brain of the central portion of body, and all nerve action radiates from same to the gland forces of body, with brain in center, see? Ready for questions.
22. Best that the application of heat be applied across the sacral and coccyx before adjustments are made there, see? for this is the most important to correct - that in the 2nd of the coccyx vertebra, or cartilaginous force.
23. (Q) What is the condition of the fracture in the skull?
    (A) This, as we see, and as has been given, shows that these in the structural portions have been knitted in that way in which no pressure is created at the present time. Only that as existed from the fifth week has brought about these depressions as exist in the refractory forces of the body.
    Correct these conditions as have been given, and add those vibrations in the Radium Appliance - which will clarify blood and strengthen nerve incentive to the point of bringing the near normal forces to this body, [4712].
24. We are through for the present.

BACKGROUND

1. [4712]'s father stated that his skull had been injured when he was a baby and that he had not developed normally; while very bright in some respects there was mental incoordination which caused him to be a misfit, not able to assume normal responsibilities.

   Dear Dr. Cayce:
   Received your book entitled "Heaven on Earth," it is quite an amazing book but I rather think its a little too deep for one of my type. I don't seem to be able to grasp everything therein.
   But I will say this much, that is: What I understand of the book I believe, but there remains the part that I don't understand. I hope I may be able to come down some time soon to discuss a matter over with you.

3. GD's note: The family stated that they could not keep [4712] in one place long enough to take the osteopathic treatments. Finally, though, he settled down, married, and worked steadily in a job for several years delivering telegrams. He died 4/17/59 at 53 years of age.
