My dear Mr. [
4758]:
Your wire was received, then your letter. Yesterday
afternoon was our first opportunity to get to your
appointment. I hope you will find sufficient in the
information for you to at least be interested in giving it a
fair trial. I can only tell you the experience of others.
You no doubt have heard enough from Mr. Kahn (whom, as you
will notice, was present when your reading was given) to
enable you to have some idea of the work. I do not want to
interest people who have not the inclination to be interested
in phenomena of this nature, but I am desirous of trying to
use this work for assistance to others who do find it of
interest.
I am enclosing the application blank and am asking that you
please fill this out and return, that we may have our files
complete.
Under separate cover I am also sending to you a little
pamphlet, which will give you some idea of what my personal
feelings are in the matter. From what Mr. Kahn has told me,
I hope that I may have the opportunity to meet you in person
sometime in the near future. I always feel it is very much
better for an individual to be present and hear the first
reading. My experience in the last thirty odd years has
proven this to be the most satisfactory way; for an
individual can then ask their own questions and know whether
the information is about them individually or might be about
anyone.
Appreciate your interest, and trusting that we may hear from
you, I am, with all good wishes,
Sincerely, Edgar Cayce

Dear Mr. [
4758]:
Enclosed you will find your membership card, (No. 98
Associate) which entitles you to one year's membership in the
Association for Research and Enlightenment, Inc., expiring on
August 27th, 1933. However, you have the privilege of
becoming an Active Member at any time, should your interest
justify becoming more closely affiliated with our work.
Active Members are more concerned with the ideals and
purposes of the work and seeing them perpetuated, as well as
co-operating in studying the phenomena as manifest through
Edgar Cayce.
We are very happy to have you as an Associate Member and hope
we have been and will continue to be of service to you. We
are very anxious to know your reaction in regard to your
Physical Reading of August 29th, also as to whether you are
following up these suggestions. It requires rather close
adherence to the suggestions for treatment to obtain the best
results, as our experience through the years has proven. We
shall be very glad to receive a report from you as soon as
you have had sufficient time to notice any marked changes.
With our very best wishes for a speedy return to a perfect
and normal health, and trusting we may have the pleasure of
receiving a reply, I am
Sincerely yours, Mildred Davis

Dear Mr. Cayce:
I wish to thank you for your good letter of August 30 and
also extend my thanks to Miss Doris for her letter of
September 10.
I have been absent from the city for over two weeks at my
cottage at Lake Geneva as I told you.
I also received your reading and recommendations - all of
which is very much appreciated. I contracted a rather severe
cold and have been resting up at the cottage and as I am
really under the doctor's care at the present time and have
been for the past three weeks, I have not attempted to follow
your recommendations but I will go into this a little
later.
Thank you again very kindly and with best wishes, I am
Gratefully yours, [

My dear Mr. [

Many thanks for yours of the 13th. I am indeed sorry that
you have been "under the weather", but trust that you are
entirely recovering and may have the opportunity to follow
out the recommendations that were given sometime ago. Please
know that our whole interest is to be of service. If any
questions should arise that you feel we might help you to
understand, we are only too glad to do what we can.
I've been hoping that I might have the opportunity to meet
you in person in the near future, and trust that I may have
this pleasure.
Sincerely, Edgar Cayce

Dear Sir:
Many thanks for your interesting letter of September 24. The
writer is pleased to say that he is much improved in health
since his letter to you recently. Although greatly improved
I am still under the doctor's care and have not attempted to
follow out the recommendations in your original reading.
I shall certainly be glad to have an opportunity to meet you
personally and will welcome the opportunity to do so.
Again thanking you for your kind interest and with best
wishes, I am
