Chicago,
Mr. Edgar Cayce,
McAlpin Hotel,
New York, N.Y.
My dear Sir:
In conversation with Mr. Wyrick yesterday, he suggested that
I write you concerning the matter which of late has caused me
a good deal of concern. He tells me that these are the sort
of cases you want to get in on and for that reason I will
explain the circumstances as best I can.
About a month ago my father, Mr. [
4790], suffered a complete
collapse which the Doctor termed Acute Indigestion coupled
with high blood pressure. On the particular occasion he had
three inward hemorrhages within a duration of 30 minutes and
after the first one he lost consciousness and did not regain
his senses for several hours afterwards.
Since then he has been under the Doctor's care but the
medicine that he has been taking does not seem to restore him
and as a result complains continuously of being very tired
and at times manifests an indication of losing his mind
because he asks frequently the same question more than
once and about things he has been accustomed to for years.
Will you please be good enough to review his case and let me
know what you think should be done. The address of my father
is ..., Ill.
Yours truly,
REPORTS
11/02/23 EC's letter written on THE PHILLIPS stationary from
Dayton, Ohio, to [
270]: "Enclosed you will find a copy of
the reading given for your father. Am sorry this was delayed
but was unable to get a stenographer while in New York.
"I am trusting you will find in this that which will assist
in giving relief for your father. I will certainly be very
glad to hear from you and to know how he gets along as I
judge from this that we are to give another reading after he
has had the reaction from the use of these properties with
the use of those that the doctor has given him. That is the
last prescription from the doctor.
"I will try to arrange to give the one for yourself as soon
as you let me hear from you and make the appointment..."
11/09/23 Son [
270]'s letter: "...I received the report on
Father a few days ago and just succeeded in getting the
prescription filled yesterday. He will start proceedings at
once. You certainly called the turn in this case. I regard
your report as excellent..."
12/10/23 Son [
270]'s letter: "...Now in regard to father.
The fumes from the inhaling formula are so strong that he has
been obliged to abandon the treatment temporarily, even tho
the solution was weakened about 50%. Even that did not seem
to overcome this difficulty. It causes considerable coughing
and some temporary strangulation.
"Do you suppose that the ingredients were not compounded
correctly or have you any other suggestion to offer? The
other treatments are being adhered to and he seems to be
improving..."
12/15/23 EC's letter: "...Now, in regard to your father,
I am sure there must be some mistake about this inhalation
formula. Are you sure that you are using the correct kind
of alcohol? I have never had any experience of this kind
from any of the other solutions that have been either given
internally or to be inhaled. Unless this is really an
expensive formula, I would see if I could not get it put up
again, and I believe that you will find that his improvement
will be much quicker if he can get the results from this
inhalation for the blood supply, for I think that is what it
is for. If this does not work out with this rebuilding of
formula, please let me know at once, and we will go into the
case again, and see just what is the trouble..."
2/09/25 Son [
270]'s letter to EC: "Will you please give me
a reading on my father, Mr. [
4790] who has been confined
to his home at ..., Chicago, for about two weeks and during
this period he has been under the care of a physician, but
unfortunately his present condition does not seem to be much
improved.
If this reading develops a condition that warrants it, please
wire me the particulars."
