TEXT

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also the treatment for the cure and relief of this body. You will answer any questions I may ask you regarding same.
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here.
3. Now, we find there are conditions that affect the blood supply and the organs of the body. These have to do with the conditions that are abnormal with this body.
4. IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, this we find deficient in the replenishing or rebuilding, yet in its circulation above normal - for temperature is carried in same, on account of that combativeness as is existent in the lymphatic and the white blood, with conditions existent as elements in the organs - or organ of the body - and in this combativeness there is brought weakness and debilitation to the general system; the languidness, and the tendency to be buoyant at times, and very much depressed at others.
5. IN THE NERVE SYSTEM, in this we find a great deal of trouble that may be assisted through the correction of conditions that will act as incentives for the system to be cleansed, through stimulation of nerve impulses that govern the eliminating centers of the body, especially that in the pulmonary center, in the liver and kidneys. Keeping through this channel the system open, so that perfect coordination (or as near perfect as possible) may be kept in the body, to meet the needs of the system when there are such combative conditions in the body.
6. IN THE ORGANS THEMSELVES, here we find - as in the pulmonaries and in the system as has to do with digestion - the seat or cause of this condition existent in the body. All the organs, then, are under that tension and strain as produced by the temperature brought about, and the combative conditions existent in the nerve (tautness), and in the blood supply in the body. So that organs have become deficient in their ability to meet the needs of the conditions.
7. To bring about better conditions for the body there should be at least sufficient stimulation to the blood stream that there may be kept up this combative condition, yet this should not be to such a point that - unless eliminations are kept properly, other portions of the body suffer through over crowding of those organs involved in elimination. So, with the application, there will come those stimulations - as given - for the nerve centers, as outlined, osteopathically applied - that stimulation necessary to keep the proper equilibrium throughout the body, as to eliminating and as to strength building. Much of the replenishing must be done through proper eliminations, and proper assimilation of that taken for rebuilding.
8. The inhalant of the properties as would come from inhaling in throat, bronchials and lungs, the gas from pure apple brandy, would be well. Better that properties of that nature be NOT TAKEN IN the system, but that the active principles of same (in the gas as thrown off from such distillation) be taken and breathed into the throat, bronchials and lungs, and thus reach the blood supply in a way and manner that adds to the ability to produce more perfect oxidization, and to throw off more of gas as produced in blood that courses through a system meeting conditions as exist.
9. Prepare, then, half to a gallon of apple brandy, in charred container that is at least two to two and a half times larger than the quantity placed in same. Keep this tightly corked, yet prepare an outlet of tube of a nature that the body may inhale the gas and fumes as form from such, as this is in state of evaporation by low heat being kept near same. Inhale this two, three, four times each day.
10. Let the manipulations, or osteopathic treatments for stimulating the centers, be given at least every other day. Not severe or deep treatments. Especially stimulating the secondary cardiac plexus, the lumbar and sacral plexus, and the upper portion of the solar plexus - from the 9th to 8th dorsal radiating ganglion.
11. For the blood stimulation, also well that those vibrations from the Double X Radium Appliance be used for the body. This may bring irritation to the body for the first two or three days. If the body finds this irritating, take away - yet after resting, apply again, across the solar plexus center, and wear same at least twelve hours out of the twenty-four.
12. The body should rest as much as possible. The conditions are such that the body should NOT be moved from present surroundings, and should ever be well that there is not too high an altitude, nor that this be FROM where sand and sea air may be attained - for these are beneficial to the body.
13. Not too much foods, but principally those of beef juice - not merely soup, but the JUICE of beef and of butterfat - eggs, milk, and plenty of liver, especially cod liver - these are good, and will bring better carbonization, and the proper oxidization through the digestive system, if the incentives from nerve centers are stimulated properly osteopathically - though the Radium Appliance and an over feeding would clog system, unless this incentive is stimulated through eliminating centers.
14. Keep the body as near cheerful as possible, with cheerful surroundings. After this has been kept up thirty to thirty-six days, we would give further instructions for better corrections. Be careful that the kidneys do not go back on their proper functioning. Ready for questions. (After pause) We are through for the present.

BACKGROUND

1. 3/29/28 Husband's special questions:
What treatment will effect a cure of Mrs. [4821]? What locality will best aid in curing? Is a high altitude preferable? Can she be cured at home - at sea-level? Will physical exercise be an aid? (Not able now.)

REPORTS

1. 4/16/28 Husband's letter to EC:
Mr. Edgar Cayce, Virginia Beach, Va.
   Dear Sir:
My dear wife, [4821], died this morning. We had no opportunity to apply your instructions for about the time the report came she was getting worse, or the next day, and Mr. [2709] and I were trying to get the materials together and say to you that we had begun.
   Yours, [...]
2. 5/04/28 EC's letter to husband:
