This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at Phillips Hotel, Room 115, Dayton, Ohio, this 6th day of December, 1923, in accordance with request made by self - [4835], via his father, a friend of EC.

TEXT

1. LS: Now, you have before you the body of [4835] who was born August 5, 1898, at Wilsonville, Alabama.
   You will give a horoscope reading, or a reading giving the effects of the planets upon the life and destiny of this individual. You will give the exact time of birth, and the vocation in life for which this body is most adapted. You will give detailed information relative to the various appearances and time in history of each of the former appearances of this soul and spirit of this entity upon the earth plane, and the characteristics as are exhibited from these in the present life of this individual.
2. EC: Yes, we have the conditions and the record as here.
3. We find the spirit and soul took possession of this entity in the early evening. Hence, we will find the better developing of the forces in this body will come near the middle portion of the life.
4. We find the influence of Saturn, Mars, Neptune, Venus, with the other planets giving assistance when Saturn is farthest away from the earth's influence, and in this body, especially, must the will force be exercised, if the body is to, in this plane, find contentment and satisfaction in those endeavors that it puts forth in this plane.
5. We find there are many things, or conditions, to which this body may adapt itself, yet there is, and has been, that dissatisfying element entering into whatever force the application of physical efforts have been directed. Yet, with the approach of the Mar's forces, with Jupiter and Venus and Mercury, the better elements are in the ascendency for this entity, and the present physical forces need to exert, in the next few years, special effort to control will force, and especially that of the temperamental forces that find expression in Saturn people, as upon this plane.
6. Well for this entity to apply self to those forces that have to do with manufacturing forces, as applied, especially, to chemical, or of firearms, or explosives.
7. In the forces, as will be found, we find the body of physical forces strong, alert, seeking, however, rather the pleasures of the nature that do not lend to spiritual up-lift of the entity. This, we find, comes from the influences of Saturn and Venus, with the ruling forces in this of Saturn. Hence the early affections in the mind of this entity, and only with sheer will force will the better developments come with this present entity.
8. In this we find the well application of the injunction to study through will to show self approved unto the Creator first, for when this entity finds the greater help that may be found in the answering forces of the inner man to that spiritual up-lift, that may ever be found in that ever indwelling force, that may be attained when the answering of the spirit of self as to that Lord of Creation, who gives the good and perfect gifts unto the children of men when they respond to those Divine laws as set in the ever choice as is given between man to rule individual self, and that the self must be overcome that the physical, the mental, the soul, the spirit may enjoy the greater pleasure as found in the works of Him, who has given in "Seek Ye the Lord, while he may be found."
9. In the attributes of those forces of the influence of the planets, and the experiences, through which this entity has passed in reaching this position, as at present upon this plane, we find these to be careful, or warned of:
10. Those that have to do with the upper portion of the body, especially. Those diseases of the throat and eyes. Those troubles that may be encountered without will force being exercised. Those of the upper digestion, so the food, and the will that governs appetites of the physical, must ever be careful of those conditions.
11. The first will appear in the first week of February. Again in the last week of August. Those in the past we find occurred twice in the present physical plane, and had to do with the physical, or organs of the physical, as has been given.
12. Body strong. Balanced will. Brain active, and the tendency is toward those that must be the chosen profession, or work, or labor of this entity upon this plane, as has been given. In the further developing of those forces, we will find the mind in the developing toward those of the chemical, or explosive, or chemical explosive natures will bring much physical and financial success, to the mind and physical body, in the year 26 and 9.
13. In the forces as of the appearances upon this plane, we find this is as the second, and before in that of the country near where this body present was born, in that of the Warrior in the same country. Hence the apathy against any physical control by other outside forces. The rejection of advice, as given from those of experience.
14. The body must learn that the will of self must be exercised, if it would attain to the mark of the higher calling, as set in Him. Be ready, up and doing, with the efforts necessary to overcome those that so easily beset the body through its own physical and mental appetites.
15. Do that.

1. His mother [4834] and sister [4833] had each obtained a Physical Reading.
2. GD's note: Vaguely I remember discussions re young [4835] not being able to settle down to finding his life's work or, in fact, any kind of work.

REPORTS

1. 12/22/23 Father's letter: "[4835] appreciated having the reading... This is, indeed, interesting work you are doing..."
2. GD's note: His younger sister being or becoming an actress, [4835] later through her connections was able to get started as an actor. He achieved recognition in radio, etc., in a popular children's hour, when he was nearing forty years of age.
