My dear Mr. [
4874]:-
I enclose you, herewith, the reading as was gotten, and I
feel very sure - from experience with others, and especially
from the experience with the condition of my own wife - that,
if you will follow out the suggestions that are made here for
the improvement of you physical condition, you will be
completely relieved of this trouble.
As you possibly know, it was this same trouble (so I was
told) (by physicians that should have known) with which my
wife was afflicted when I became so thoroughly convinced of
the good that might be obtained through these readings. From
what you say, and the reading itself, I think my wife must
have been in a much more serious condition than yourself; yet
she was entirely relieved, and has never had a reoccurrence
of the trouble - and that was in 1910 and 11 and 12. So, I
see no reason why you shouldn't at least give this a thorough
try-out, with the checking up on same every few months to see
just how the condition is progressing. Possibly you are
quite right. You would not be able to get the suggestions
carried out in that institution. However, we did have one -
an Army officer's wife - in the same institution, who was SO
insistent that they DID carry out the suggestions as were
made for her - though they were not the same as yours - with
very, very, remarkable results.
Let us hear from you whenever you have the opportunity.
With kindest personal regards, I am
Sincerely, Edgar Cayce EC:GD

Dear Mr. [
4874]:-
I was glad to have yours of the 3rd, and I feel very hopeful
as regarding your condition, if you will carry out the
suggestions as were given, and I think this may be done just
as well in Alabama as in Colorado Springs - and perhaps
better!
Now, as to how often you should inhale the fumes from the
brandy, you will be governed according to your strength. At
first, I don't think you will be able to inhale more than two
or three times during the day, and very little of it at the
time at first - for you will find it to be rather raw to your
lungs, or will seem so - or that has been the experience of
all those I know who have tried this - but a little later you
will want it more often and a little more of it. You will be
governed according to you own physical condition.
Hoping you will let us hear from you from time to time, I am

My dear Mr. Cayce,
I received your letter of the 9th and thank you so much for
taking such an interest in me. Am sorry I didn't think of it
in my previous letter, but I want to ask you about heating
the brandy. Will it do just as well to pour it out of the
keg into a pot, heat it then pour it back into the keg &
inhale it. This is the only way I see it can be done.
I am feeling fine & you can tell yourself, that my nervous
system is improving from my writing. With all good wishes,
I remain

Dear Mr. [
4874]:-
Replying to yours of the 20th, regarding the heating of the
brandy, no it would never do, Mr. [
4874], to take any from
the container and heat it. It is best to keep it sitting
close to something that makes it evaporate the faster. It
doesn't mean you are to heat it so that it will boil or the
steam rise from it. You see, you put the brandy in a
container three or four times the size of your quantity, and
in the space above this the fumes and active principles of
the brandy form, and this is what you inhale into your lungs.
It isn't that it is to steam or boil, or anything like that.
You simply keep it close to something that causes faster
evaporation. When the weather gets warm it's not necessary
to have it near anything, but keep your keg tightly corked,
and you will find there will be sufficient fumes accumulate
from time to time to make you feel it very, very, much. I
know of this by actual experience in my wife's condition.
Thank you very much for your letter and your asking about
this. I assure you we like to keep in touch with you, for I
want to see you get well and strong.
Sincerely, Edgar Cayce EC:GD

(Kindly advise us in the space below if you have followed
all, or any part, of the suggestions given in your reading of
March 29, 1927, and give us in detail the exact results you
have obtained.)
Dear Mr. Cayce,
I am still at Colo. Springs, Cragmor Sanatorium, but expect
to go home (Selma, Ala.) about the latter part of June. It
was my intention to use the remedy after I went home & think
you agreed with me in that, as we had some correspondence
about that. I am up & around and eating three big meals a
day & feeling just fine. I note that you are suppose to have
an answer 30 days from May
26-27 but I am replying at once.
Very best wishes, Sincerely [

Dear Mr. Cayce,
I have been in Selma about two weeks and find it is
impossible to acquire the Brandy here to use in my cure. I
have asked doctors to get it, and you know they are prejudice
against anything like this for a cure of my troubles.
I think I am considerably improved and was wondering if there
was any other cure in the way of doing. It is against the
law in Ala. to prescribe for brandy or whiskey or the like.
Am going to keep trying to get it. I was thinking if I could
come to Virginia Beach & take this cure, if you made a
practice of receiving patients at Virginia Beach. Will be
glad to hear from you as soon as possible. Mr. Harris
[Thomas E. Harris] has helped me as far as he could. Kind
regards,

My dear Mr. [

I beg your pardon for not answering yours of the 22nd before
this, but so many things have prevented my keeping up my
correspondence, that I feel really ashamed to address some -
but I'm mighty glad to know you are feeling a whole lot
better. I'm sorry indeed to know that you have been unable
to procure the brandy for your trouble there in Alabama. As
you will see from the data that has been sent you - and from
what is being sent you in this mail - we soon hope to have an
institution where just such conditions could be met. At the
present time we have no place to take care of those who
desire to come here. However, there are quite a number of
hotels and cottages where individuals may secure lodging
place, and I feel sure that we could get this prepared for
you here - and, from the experience of which I wrote you some
time ago, that my wife had with the use of same, I believe
this remedy will prove most effective in your condition.
Again begging your pardon for not answering sooner, but
trusting that I may be of help, and assuring you of my desire
to help in every way possible, I am, with kindest personal
regards,

Dear Mr. Cayce
Since returning to Alabama I have gotten the remedy called
for in your reading for me and using it with the exception of
the Brandy. I have made every effort to get it and will
continue to do so. Doctors & Druggist have turned me down.
I was wondering if anything else could answer the purpose.
Kind regards.

Dear Mr. Cayce
I am living out in the country from Selma and am taking your
remedy all except the inhaling of the Brandy. I do not
improve but seem to stay about the same, except I see a big
improving in nervousness. Mr. Cayce don't you think I should
have another reading and if I still can't get the complete
remedy here I want you to write what it will cost me, I mean
board & lodging, or boarding house expense, and if you can
secure the brandy if I should decide to come to Virginia
Beach.
If you make another reading send me your card designating the
time & Mr. Cayce it is necessary that the reading be as early
as possible, because I am at a stand still at present. I
will enclose the fee of $10.00 with the card when I return
it. Please reply at once.
Yours sincerely, [

Dear Mr. Cayce,
Am enclosing your card & a check for $10.00 by return mail as
it appears that the time is short.
I think my nervousness is improved considerable. I hardly
notice it now. Am gaining strength but not like I would like
to.
My temperature goes just very little above normal about twice
a week.
I don't sleep but about 7 hrs. during the night, should sleep
more.
I cough just a little but the medicine has improved me
considerable.
You may not get this in time & may have to make another
appointment. Will be at Plantersville at Mr. [...]'s
residence, Nov.
10-27 - from 9 to 12. I came out here in the
country and it has helped considerably.
Yours truly, [
