Background for 4908-1 through
4908-7 series according to GD's
recollection:
Mr. Thomas B. Brown of Dayton, Ohio approached EC re. writing
a scenario for his friend Gloria Swanson who was having
difficulty finding a story that suited her. After several
discussions of the possibilities, EC decided to try it.
As in the [
3744] series, no attempt was made to keep each
reading separate but GD's notes were transcribed straight
along in a manuscript, with the date of the reading
preceding each section which was obtained on that date.
Sometimes Linden Shroyer conducted the reading, sometimes
Mrs. Cayce; Hugh Lynn Cayce was present at some of the
readings, Mr. Brown at some and, of course, GD acted as
stenographer for all of them.
Mr. Brown was given a copy of the manuscript when completed
and he was supposed to send it to, or to discuss it with,
Gloria Swanson. I do not know any details of what took
place. We do know that a movie was never made, at least
not with Gloria Swanson starring in it.
The material was edited and re-edited and shown to various
people from time to time.
