8/12/43 Letter from Grover C. Kemp - see in EC's personal
folder: "I just can't remember Mrs. Cayce nor any of your
family I met the day we went to Hopkinsville, you giving the
reading on the negro boy, who stole the gold and lost a 20
dollar gold piece down by the old spring. It now seems such
a short time we were together in Bowling Green...
"Remember the quail hunt where you located the old mine, and
we had the big fried ham dinner, cooked by the fat sisters
around 300 lbs. each, and our bird dog eating all the quails
we killed..."
8/18/43 EC's letter to Mr. Kemp: "Yes, I recall the quail
hunt. Do you know that the lady whose farm we were on that
day is still living? She is over a hundred years old. That
is one of those crazy things which came out of the readings.
Last summer when I was there, I saw her grandson and he told
me he had never known her to be as strong as now."
