3/27/73 GD's note: Today in going through some old letters
of Gertrude Cayce's dating back to 1906 in Bowling Green,
Ky., when she was a member of a Pen Pal Club, I came across
this letter from Mrs. [
4962] to Edgar Cayce as follows,
dated
Feb. 19, 1908, Hopkinsville, Ky.
"Dear Edgar: Words will not begin to express my thanks
to you for the kindness you have shown in giving me the
readings. You can't imagine what a load you have lifted off
of my mind. I have suffered so much pain bodily and a great
amount of mental strain until I was almost worn out. If ever
I can in any way do you a kindness in the future, all you
have to do is let me know, and I will be more than glad to do
so. I called [husband [
1103] at work] and told him what
[his sister [
760]] had telephoned me that you said, and he is
much relieved as myself. We both thank you. Tell [
760] and
[
538] that [
1103] said he would call them up whenever he had
anything new to report." [
4962]
GD's note: Nine days later, on February 28, 1908, her son
[
419] was born. Apparently her condition was connected with,
or because of, pregnancy? I heard that she died when the
little boy was still very young and he was brought up by his
father's sister, Mrs. [
1795]. She, Mrs. [
4962], had an older
child, a girl [
1312]. The only one living in her family now
is her granddaughter [
852], who does not know or remember any
of the details.
