This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 22nd day of February, 1929, in accordance with request made by self - Mr. [4984], via Mr. [550].

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [4984]. Now we find there are some troublesome conditions respecting the physical functioning of the body. We also find that these may be corrected, in a greater or lesser degree, and that many of the seeming disturbing conditions will be benefited and corrected with the correcting of those that APPARENTLY haven't had much to do with the cause of the trouble; or many of the conditions are reflex, while more subtle and deeper-seated conditions cause these.
2. Now these are conditions as we find them with this body, [4984] we are speaking of.
3. THE BLOOD SUPPLY, shows the effect an impoverished circulation, produced as much by the non-eliminated conditions as by any other, for when so much of the vitality is needed to ward against these conditions the vital' is not easily stored up, as is seen in the conditions as exist in the lymphatic circulation, the capillary circulation, and in the hepatics is the greater seat of THIS trouble - produced as much by non-attention, or too busy to mind the needs of the system, as any other - and becoming lax in such conditions, the system naturally creating that, and attempting to overcome and meet the conditions gradually builds up those forces in system that smother, suppress, those forces as bring the distresses to the body, [4984].
4. IN THE NERVE SYSTEM, these are under taxation and need much of relaxing. This more of a reflex condition, as is the trouble as is experienced in the general system from the effect as is created in the body from the drosses being left in the system, as to cause hindrances with the various functioning, as in the cycle of their activity - as is seen in the liver and the kidneys, also as seen in the circulation, as even in the capillaries - as is seen in the effect as is produced in even the heart's action, as well as the digestive system.
5. Now to meet the needs of these conditions at the present: First there should be brought about for the body that which will give the proper basis for the system through its central nervous system, and through the activity of the hepatic circulation, as well as of the digestive system - as is acted upon not only by the pancrean juices and from the liver itself, but as from the secretions as come into the system from the intestines - where the blood, or the chyle, is formed for the reproduction of the vital forces, as come through the vibratory action set up by the stimulation of digestion and assimilation through the body. These would be found preferably in a compound as would be prepared in this way and manner:
6. To 1/2 gallon of distilled water we would add:

   Wild Cherry Bark...............3 ounces,
Dogfennel.....................20 grains,
Prickly Ash Bark.............1/2 ounce,
Bark of Sassafras Root,
preferably the Red........1/2 ounce,
Peruvian Bark................1/2 ounce.

   Reduce this by simmering, not boiling, to 1/2 the quantity. Then strain while warm and add 2 ounces of pure grain alcohol, with 2 drams Balsam of Tolu cut in same. The dosage of this would be teaspoonful after each meal - and eat the meals! but beware of the diet, as will cause the continuation of fermenting of the STARCHES in the system. Let the diet be preferably of those of fruits, nuts, and of alkalin producing elements.
7. Use the enema to cleanse the colon (high enema preferable), with small quantities of oil rather than water. Force same in the intestine, using Russian White Oil, or Usoline, for same - about half a pint. This will be taken only once each week, see?
8. After the medicinal properties have been taken in system for ten days, then begin with the manipulations CHIROPRACTICALLY given along the cerebro-spinal system, making the adjustments especially in the 4th and 5th cervical and the 7th and 8th dorsal. Not necessary that more than five to ten ADJUSTMENTS be made. Then use exercise - self - that is, the upper portion of the body of mornings, the lower portion of the body of evenings (we are changing this as on account of the activity of the system, see). Do that. We will bring to this body the near normal forces. We are through for the present.

1. 1/05/29 Letter: "While in conversation a few days ago with a friend of mine [Mr. [550]] he was telling me about some of your readings and diagnosis of people. His statements were very interesting to me, so much so I would like for you to give a complete reading of me and state just what my troubles are and the treatment of same, also the diet that will be required in my case. This friend of mine said you did not make any charges but accepted free-will offerings but did not know what was usually sent to you. I am enclosing check for $15. If this is not satisfactory let me know. We would like to have this reading as early as possible."
