8/02/44 Letter from [
5017] to EC: "...My physical reading was
had on April 20th. As soon as a copy of same was received I
took it to Dr. H. S. Liebert, D.O., of Richmond, Virginia,
who is the osteopathic physician who has been treating me
since twelve years or more ago, and we went over the reading
together. He seemed entirely willing to cooperate, though he
said he did not see anything directed in the reading which he
had not given me except electric baking treatment and the
colonics. He suggested, however, that we begin immediately
to carry out the directions given in the reading. Beginning
with April 29th (1944) the doctor gave me a series of nine
adjustments coupled with the electric baking treatments, and
during the same time I did not take any colonics but only an
occasional enema. The nine treatments were at the rate of
three each week. The ninth treatment was taken on May 17th
and from then until June 14th I took no treatments of any
kind. On June 14th I took an electric baking treatment on my
back and an osteopathic adjustment, and the two weeks
following I took both treatments and also a colonic at the
rate of three a week, each time taking the baking, the
adjustments and the colonic. During July I have had four
osteopathic adjustments and one colonic. Thus far no results
have been noticed from my treatments and colonics, though
this does not mean that I am discouraged, for I feel that it
will take a long time for me to improve. I have been in this
condition for fifteen years..."
8/02/44 Letter from [
5017] to EC: "...My trouble began in
1929 with such symptoms as progressive weakness, nervousness,
lack of coordination, etc. My trouble was finally diagnosed
as thyroid trouble, namely, an overactive thyroid gland...
I have never regained strength in my body which left me when
the first trouble came on me. I am not as strong now as I
was a few years ago. I can't walk up any kind of step
without a rail or some other support, for the reason that I
have no lifting power in my legs and no pulling power in my
back. Ordinarily, in going up a flight of stairs I have to
use both hands to pull myself up. Still, on a perfectly
level walk I can walk so nearly natural that it is scarcely
noticeable..."
